Have you ever based your beverage choices on the weather? During the winter, it’s common to snuggle up by the fireplace with a steaming mug of hot cocoa, but when the sun shines in the summer we like to drink ice-cold lemonade by the pool. Now that the rays are out, it’s nice to have a cool drink by your side as you hit the beach and tan outside. Here are a few refreshing summer drinks that are easy to make and will satisfy your sweet tooth!

1. Lemon Mint Iced Tea

For a beverage that is light and healthy, this lemon mint iced tea will definitely quench your thirst. The tea provides antioxidants that will cleanse your body. The lemon promotes digestive health with its citric acid. And the mint will keep your breath, well, minty fresh!

2. Berry Splash

If you enjoy fruity flavored drinks, I highly recommend this berry delicious beverage! In just five minutes, you can whip up this yummy mixture. Combine unsweetened cherry drink mix, white cranberry juice, sugar and any berry of your choice for a sweet refreshment that you’re sure to love!

3. Frozen Mochaccino

For those who can’t seem to get enough of coffee, a great alternative to your usual $5 frapp is this frozen mochaccino that will have you skipping your Starbucks run. Freeze coffee into an ice cube tray overnight then blend the ice cubes, milk, cocoa, maple syrup and vanilla to create this frosty drink to take with you on your way to work!

4. Old-Fashioned Pink Lemonade

Not only is this baby pink beverage aesthetically pleasing, but it takes you back to your childhood with the taste of fresh lemons and sugary goodness. Mix water, sugar, lemon juice and a bit of cranberry juice for a tart treat that will quench your thirst.

5. Pineapple, Coconut and Lime Spritzer

If you can’t afford a trip to the islands, this tasty tropical drink will certainly take you there. The combined flavors of pineapple, coconut and lime go together so well. Since there is spritzer in the drink, there is a nice bubbly effect. Feel free to top it off with a few slices of pineapple!

Beat the summer heat! Use these recipes to create refreshing drinks that will keep you well hydrated throughout the day!
