The first meal I ate at the cafeteria after returning to Dickinson from my semester abroad was mushroom ravioli. I thought it was pretty good considering I had just been eating fresh lasagna in Bologna a month before. I was sitting with my best friends at the long rectangular table we had sat at every day for freshman and sophomore year. Sitting there it felt like nothing had changed – except the photographs on the cafeteria walls. We had all lived in completely different places across the globe yet we could still come together in complaining about how crowded the caf was.

As my first two weeks have gone by, I can say that I’m not having much trouble adjusting back to my life in Carlisle. Although, I found out I completely forgot how to use the computerized system at the snar. Studying abroad through a Dickinson program was one of the best decisions I’ve made in college. Before abroad, I always felt I was walking besides strangers when walking across campus. Now when I walk through the academic quad I see not only more familiar faces but new friends. Even though I was away from campus for a semester it seems I got to know much more of Dickinson during my semester abroad.
