Quick Tips On How to Not Gain 10 Pounds Over This Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DESU chapter.

  1. Watch what you eat!

Watching what you eat is key. Do not eat everything you see at the table; try to pick the one dessert you want the most instead of eating everything on the table.

  1. Portion control

This is very important during the holiday season as well. If you control your portions right and do not stuff and pile your plate you will save some calories and keep the weight off.

  1. Exercise

Exercising for 30 minutes a day for at least five days in the week will keep of the pounds! Exercising does not mean you have to go to the gym either, it could be as simple as taking a walk around the neighborhood.

  1. Drink Water

Drinking water can cut unnecessary calories you may be drinking if you drink juices or sodas. Water hydrates you and has zero calories, it’s a win win ☺

  1. Eat in moderation

Of course you are going to eat that good sweet potato pie you grandma makes at thanksgiving, but eat sweets and high calorie foods in moderation in order to keep off the pounds.
