A New Love

Daydreams of faithful love now cloud the mind,

Sunbeams like headlines carry your love so kind.

Anywhere the maple leaves can touch I see,

Ice cream and laughter here all close to me.

I wrap myself in this pure heart of gold,

I know that your love could never feel so cold.

Redeem my blameful hands that broke the heart,

To get you, to see that my mind is art.

It’s true you fell all the way at first sight,

I’d think that’s why you stayed with a big fight.

You stole me away from him to be yours,

I’m glad you’d never see me as a chore.

Someone who wanted what could not be theirs,

Someone who could never want what is theirs.

Explore our shameless pot of gold here now,

Endure our gracious bar as you allow.

Regrets of playful shame are never being near,

For you I swear I would choose every god damn year.

My dreams are truthful with you now present,

Great themes of joy can now be all ascent.
