6 Easy Ways on How to Bounce the MidTerm Slump

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Denison chapter.

Movies centered around college students never really focus on the difficulty that are midterms, but we all know the real truth! Once your nights stuck in the stacks are over, take a little time to pamper yourself and get back on your high horse for the rest of the semester. Clear an hour one Sunday afternoon with the girls, or just have a night to yourself, and follow these six ways to jump over that midterm slump!

1. Rejuvenate your tired skin!

Looking at a computer screen in the dark confines of the library really takes a turn for your skin. Take a moment to put on a good face mask, put on a good series (I suggest The Office) and relax! You deserve it! My favorite is from Freeman Beauty with the best being the Rejuvenating Cucumber + Pink Salt Clay Mask, Manuka Honey + Tea Tree Oil Clay Mask + Cleanser, and the Detoxifying Charcoal + Black Sugar Mud Mask. Sounds better with friends? Absolutely! Have a girls’ night and invite all the ladies over to detox from the week’s stressors.

2. Be a Ray of Sunshine Among those Fall Colors!

Keep your summertime fine glow even though the sun has disappeared! L’Oreal Paris has so graciously provided life with hacks to keep bronze throughout the year. Use Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes or Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Salon Airbrush Mist for skin that will get people thinking you went to the beach instead of your midterm!

3. Work on That Hair!

Now that your skin is looking fresh, we HAVE to do something with that hair! Considering it hasn’t been washed in a couple nights, we could use a little bit of Bed Head by TIGI’s Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo or their Oh Bee Hive! Matte Dry Shampoo to make it look a little fresher before rushing off to that next midterm. If you’re all finished, why not take the morning to do a little something somethin’ and lock in your new do with Bed Head’s Masterpiece Shine Hairspray or Hard Head Hairspray? Your hair thanks you.

4. Rock the Style!

So we have your skin back to its beautiful state and your hair lookin’ crazy killer, but let’s work on that groutfit you’ve been sporting for three days. Toss the sweat pants in exchange for some of Aeropostale’s new seriously stretchy denim! Dress it up or dress it down, denim is definitely the way to go.

5. Treat Yourself!

Can you really go back to being you without a little yummy in your tummy? Choose a snack that is made with real fruit flavor in grape, cherry, banana, strawberry, mango, green apple and kiwi, and has a fun, chewy texture! It’s just a nice little pick-me-up in between classes or when you’re just sitting around and relaxing. If you’re not feeling like a solid candy, why not go for some new beverages? Spindrift Sparkling Water is the absolute choice. It’s the only sparkling water made with real squeezed fruit and the freshness will have you feeling better all week!

6. Keep Yourself Organized!

Although midterms may be over, we know you aren’t done with that busy schedule! Keep organized with your Erin Condren Hardbound Life Planner. A fashionista like you, you will be sure to find a pattern that suits you! Visit erincondren.com for all your backpack essentials. Use HERCAMPUS15 for 15% off your order!

Are you ready to take on campus yet? With these six steps to get you feeling your best, I hope your stress levels are down and your determination is hitting high for the rest of the semester! If you ever feel overwhelmed again, well, you know what to do.
