The Top Five Smoothie Recipes You Need To Try This Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Delhi North chapter.

Have you ever had one of those mornings when your breakfast looks so boring and dull that it makes you wanna go back to sleep? Well, I used to experience this so often that I decided to alter my breakfast routine and included smoothies in my morning meals.

Smoothies, in my opinion, are the ideal go-to goodies. They are easy-to-make, quick, energetic and you can use all your creativity into mix-matching the ingredients and playing with a gazillion flavors. They are an awesome way to start your day!

They are typically made with fresh fruits and/or vegetables and can be made in a kitchen blender. On top of that, they look incredibly delicious, vibrant and creamy! So, you can never be bored.

Here are my favourite, power-packed smoothie recipes, all you’re gonna need are some of your favourite fruits (preferably frozen), some yogurt, fruit juices and skimmed milk. And of course, a blender and just a few minutes. And your rainbow coloured breakfast will wait to get devoured! :)

Tasty Tangy delight

This smoothie is exactly what its name suggests, super tangy and orange coloured. We’ll be using oranges, peaches and carrots for this one. Start off by adding all your ingredients in the blender: half a cup of orange juice, half a cup of yogurt, one cup of peeled oranges, one cup of chopped peaches and two finely chopped carrots. Blend these and there you go!

Rejuvenating ruby red delight

We’ll be using watermelon and beetroot for this one. Sounds healthy, right? Trust me, it is! Besides that, beetroots are amazing because they’re high in fibre and low in calories, although they don’t taste so amazing. But don’t worry, the watermelon in there sweetens the whole smoothie and you won’t even be tasting the beetroot. You know the drill now, take all your ingredients: half-cup skimmed milk, half cup yogurt, one chopped beetroot and plenty of chopped watermelon, and toss them into your blender. And voila!

The classical green, pineapple paradise

We’re talking about smoothies and the green one doesn’t show up. That’s impossible, right? The best part about this is that it’s as delicious as it’s nutritious. It’s very fresh and tangy in taste and is packed with *good for you* ingredients. We’ll be using coconut milk, spinach, one banana, half a cup diced pineapple, some yogurt and freshly grated ginger. Whirl it all and you’re done. Tantalize your taste buds with this one!

Sunny Yellow Smoothie

This one’s perfect for a gloomy Monday morning to get you going. You’ll need half a cup of pineapple juice, half a cup yogurt, lots of diced pineapples, half a cup frozen mangoes, one banana and crushed mint leaves. Press blend and enjoy!

*It’s berry time* Smoothie

A smoothie list is incomplete without berries! Bring out your favourite strawberries for this one, around 3-4 chopped ones, a handful of blueberries, one cup of yogurt, a little of milk, a few ice cubes, one and a half tablespoons of chia seeds (soaked) and honey for sweetening. Blend the berries and your smoothie is ready! This one’s hands-down THE best and my favorite;)

Go ahead y’all, try these mouthwatering recipes and kick start your days with contagious energy and healthy freshness.
