Where To Go When You’re Stressing About Midterms

Let’s face it, midterms are the worst and stress happens, but there are so many things to do in Ellensburg to get rid of your stress. Here is a list of 10 activities to do in Ellensburg when the stress of school becomes too much to handle.

  1. Go on a walk/run. There are so many trails around Ellensburg to go one. You could walk around Kerry Lake (People’s Pond), or take the trail from the park on Alder around to Sanders Road and back or just walk around your neighborhood.
  2. Go on a hike. There are also so many hiking trails around that you won’t walk the same one twice unless you want too. There is Manastash Ridge, Rattlesnake and Umptanum Falls just to name a few.
  3. Go shopping. There are cute stores in town like Flirt that will help you forget about school and make you focus on a super cute new outfit for the weekend.
  4. Go get a massage. There are many salons in town and if you have the money a massage is the perfect way to relax and destress. Alente salon has massage therapy and it isn’t unreasonably priced.
  5. Have a self-appreciation day. Sometimes you just need to spend a little TLC on yourself. Go get your nails, hair or makeup done somewhere. When you feel good about yourself it will show in your work and on your beautiful face.
  6. Repurpose old furniture. If you have an crafty side and it is something that helps you relax, go find something at the Goodwill or the antique store take it home and turn it into something new! We all want out houses/ apartments to reflect our personalities, what better way to do that then create some of that personality yourself.
  7. Workout. For those of you who like to be fit and physical the CWU gym is amazing. You could show up to one of their fitness classes (you do have to pay to participate), or just go sweat it out. Get those endorphins pumping and it will flip your mood around!
  8. Listen to music. Go to a coffee shop, order your favorite drink, sit in a corner and put your headphones in. What you choose to do while you are there is up to you.
  9. Have a game night. Invite your closest friends over to your place, order pizza and get your favorite drinks. Play some of those board games and card games you use to play and you won’t believe how much fun you start to have and how you forget about the stress you’ve been feeling during the day!

Midterms are the worst, but knowing where to go and what to do to get rid of the stress can help you get through them a little easier.
