The Top Spring Fashion Trends to Look Out For This Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

Spring is just around the corner, and with a change in seasons comes a change in fashion. We all love our winter fashion – scarfs, knee high boots, and comfy sweaters are staples for the colder months of the year. While you might be sad to leave your winter wear behind, new trends are starting to bloom that you won’t want to miss out on. There are a number of staple pieces that every fashion-forward student is jumping on, and the mix-and-match possibilities are endless. Take a look at the season’s latest fashion trends that you can incorporate into your own wardrobe with ease.

Gingham

There’s a good chance you’ve already started seeing this pattern everywhere – jumpsuits, ankle pants, you name it. While this pattern’s been around on the fashion scene for some time, it was practically designed for spring. Nothing screams warm weather like a classic gingham pattern on a cute crop top or romper. If this is a trend you’ve been watching longingly, now is your chance to jump on it. Check out some pieces perfect for this spring that won’t break your budget.

Striped Pants

Stripes are always a classic that can be incorporated into any seasonal wardrobe, but striped pants are the newest piece on the scene. This comfortable and fashion-forward trend is breathable enough for spring, but is a perfect option for days where shorts won’t fly. Pair it with a solid top, or go head-to-toe with a striped top for a bold patterned look.

Straw

It’s time to embrace your rustic side and jump on the bandwagon of straw hats and bags. It may seem a bit out of place, but a simple straw bag is a perfect for a quick on-the-go fashion statement. Straw gives a casual beach vibe that will follow you no matter where you go – pair a simple straw hat with a denim jacket and a romper and you have a spring-ready outfit in a snap. You don’t have to go all the way to the beach for this trend, either.

Overalls

A comfortable and easy way to put together tons of possible looks, overalls are my personal fashion addiction. Grab a distressed denim pair with a tube top or cute bra underneath for a warm-weather look, or pair some culotte overalls with a soft long sleeved turtleneck for a more sophisticated aesthetic. Overalls come in all different styles, from shorts to dresses to long pants, and you can find them in almost any fabric possible.

Tube Tops

This trend is just starting to blossom, but it’s soon to be seen everywhere you look. From bathing suit tops to plain tube shirts paired with high waisted pants, this look is a simple yet versatile option perfect for the warm weather. If you’re concerned about your bra size negatively impacting your look, have no fear – plenty of brands offer options for ladies of all sizes.

It’s hard not to be excited about the new trends rolling in for spring this year. As the weather warms and plants come back to life, it’s a great time to breathe new life into your wardrobe. These are just a handful of the trends that will be popping up as spring rolls in, so keep your eyes peeled for even more bold fashion choices we’ll see this season.
