“Emily In Paris” Season 3 Predictions

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

“Emily in Paris” has taken all of our hearts by storm for being the perfect vicarious TV show to binge with a glass of wine. I fell in love with Emily’s American determination, confidence, and of course, her sexy lovers. I finished the entire show over the course of three days after resisting for months. Now, left empty and wondering, I have nothing more to think about except what is left to come.

Season 2 ending recap: The last scene of season 2 was Emily going to Silvy and letting her know that she’d made her decision. In that same episode, she tried to confess her love to Gabriel and tell him that she was staying in Paris indefinitely, which could change their entire relationship. Emily didn’t want to start things with Gabriel because it wasn’t worth ruining her friendship with Camille if the romance would’ve had an end date when Emily returned to Chicago. Emily and Alfie are dating but are now long-distance due to Alfie’s job. Emily and Camille have rekindled their friendship over lunch, and Emily is back on her account at work. Madaline is expecting Emily to rebuild the Paris office and start completely over, branding it more towards The Gilbert Group.

Season 3 awaits us for at least a few more months, and I have a few inklings of what is to come.

Emily and Camille’s Friendship will Turn into Foeship

There’s just no way that Emily will be able to continue being true friends with Camille. That’s not even to mention whatever it is Camille and her mother are scheming up. I just see their friendship turning into a feud over Gabriel. In my head, the scene happens when Emily is spending just a bit too much time at Gabriel’s restaurant, and Camille makes a snarky comment about her and Gabriel needing to go to their home. This could also play out with Emily overhearing their “sexy time.”

Emily will, of course, try to play things cool and act unbothered. This will then manifest as another steamy night with her and Gabriel while Camille is out of town. Emily, who is being eaten away by guilt, will take Camille’s earlier advice and tell her “as a friend.” Camille may then implement the last phase of her scheme, which I think is to make Gabriel not like Emily anymore on his “own” accord, and she will bring up all the negativity that Emily brought into their lives.

This will either spiral into a fight between Gabriel and Camille, where they break up, or some drama between Gabriel and Emily, where they decide not to interact for some time. And as they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder, so their lack of interaction will only grow the tension between them.

Mindy will Start to Mend Things With her Father

Mindy’s relationship with her father has been building up for both seasons and came to a peak when the girls were in Saint Tropez, and she found out her father had stayed there weeks beforehand. She jokingly texted her father while they were there, but nothing has been fixed yet.

My prediction is that a video of Mindy will go viral in China as her talent is recognized in Paris, and her father will reach out because he saw the video. Hopefully, he will come out to Paris, or Mindy will fly home, but I see some apologies on the horizon.

Mindy will resist these apologies at first, wondering why it has taken him so long, but all will be forgiven over a fancy dinner. I could also see her father finding one of the videos of Mindy and just showing up at a performance to make up for some lost time. Mindy will be misty-eyed over some roses and a humble smile.

Emily will choose Savoir

The firm that she knows, loves, and is up for a promotion at? Or the firm that is taking a chance on her and might change her whole life? This one is just obvious. If she chose The Gilbert Group, she would likely go back to Chicago, and if she just quit both of them, she would need to get hired by a French agency, which is quite unrealistic since her French is, how you say, not so good.

This Savoir decision will drive some issues into her fond relationship with her boss in Chicago, Madaline. Madaline will be upset, saying that this was not their plan, but it will all fall apart when Madaline shows her resentment towards Emily for not being able to go to Paris herself due to her pregnancy. They won’t talk for weeks until the baby comes and Emily finds out about it via social media. Emily will reach out to congratulate Madaline, and the tension will start to fade.

Emily will Have an Allergic Reaction to Eggplant

From the second Emily mentioned she had an eggplant allergy in Champagne, I knew it would come up again. I’m thinking that Camille will make something with eggplant and offer it to Emily to come across kindly, pretending to forget about her allergy. Emily might have to go to the hospital or might just be sick for a while. Either way, I see Gabriel swooping in to help Emily in her time of need, and if she does go to the hospital, Alfie may show up too. This will start a fight between Emily and Alfie that will probably lead to a break-up.

Alfie and Emily’s break-up is inevitable, and if it doesn’t happen in this fashion, they may just break up because of distance. Their relationship isn’t the steadiest to begin with, as Alfie is (reasonably) insecure about Gabriel, and Emily isn’t being totally honest with him.

Camille’s Family will Sabotage Emily’s Work Life

It’s fishy that Camille’s family asked for Emily back on the Champagne account even after learning about her and Gabriel’s affair. I see no wholesome reason to want Emily working with them, even if the spray was her idea. Sabotaging Emily’s work-life will further punish her for her sins with Gabriel, and I bet Camille is hoping it’ll make Gabriel see her in a more negative light.

That being said, Sylvie will come to the rescue here and put her foot down as the now-full-owner of their firm. She will either put someone else on the account or let them go entirely. Here’s to hoping for the latter!

Emily will Move Apartments

Not only will The Gilbert Group not be covering Emily’s current apartment when she decides to go with Savoir, but she won’t be able to stand seeing Gabriel and Camille together all the time. She will also want some privacy for her late-night-early-morning shenanigans when she and Alfie break up. Assuming Savoir stays in Paris, Emily may move closer to the new office, but of course, she wants an apartment with a view of the Eiffel Tower.

Her new-firm salary likely won’t cover this, and she may have to continue living with Mindy (but having her pay rent this time) or have an NYC-Esque shoebox apartment.

And now that you have nothing to do but wait for these predictions to come true, here’s some fashion inspo to keep Emily in your mind!
