“I’m so overwhelmed and stressed out!”

        -Me, every single day.

If you’re anything like me, at this time of year, you’re dealing with a tremendous amount of stress and anxiety about terms papers, assignments and finals.

It can sometimes feel like you’re drowning in a mountain of work and before you even climb to the top of the pile, another massive load of assignments is added.

This being said, we need all the help we can get at this stage in the game. Thankfully, we live in a time where information about self-help and bettering ourselves is everywhere, and I found that crystals are a great way to start. It helps that my partner is obsessed with crystals and carries them with her everywhere.  We even sleep with them! I have, not only the internet’s plethora of info on crystals but real-life experience with these crystal beauties.

The following is a mini crystal guide to helping you get through this time of the year via these crystals healing energies. I’ve selected four different crystals to assist you in eliminating anxiety and even fear so that you can be stress-free and even calm amidst anything that comes your way.

Black Tourmaline

This crystal is widely known for its ability to repel and block negative energy. healingcrystals.com shares how stress and fear are such low vibrations. Black tourmaline, however, is so powerful that it repels and blocks these low energies by removing them and instilling confidence in their place.

You can carry your little gem nugget with you in your pocket or purse to help remove stress and even protect you from harmful vibes and energies by blocking them.  As we are rubbing shoulders with so many different people and energies every day, it’s important to shield ourselves from energies that may not be our own. Additionally, because our world is filled with electromagnetic pollution, black tourmaline even absorbs these harmful energies and clears your space, so be sure to keep this stone near your computer, TV or other electronic devices.

Rose Quartz

This crystal is one of my absolute favourites, but that might be because I’m a hopeless romantic. hibiscusmooncrystalacademy.com shares that this precious gem is known as the stone of ‘unconditional love’ by helps promote self-love and self-worth.  It has such a warm and gentle vibration, encouraging us to be easy on ourselves, and therefore limiting our doubts and fears.

It particularly assists us with our emotions, keeping them balanced in our relationships and with our school work. It’s easy to find jewelry with rose quartz, but even a nice tumbled stone in your pocket or purse will help raise your ‘love meter’ and how you feel about yourself. Another tidbit I loved about this stone and backed up by healingcrystals.com is that fact that if you sleep with it under your pillow or on your bed stand, it will make your skin super silky and smooth.

Citrine

This is another incredible gem with unique properties. It has a yellow-orange hue yellow, and it’s like carrying a little ray of sunshine in your pocket.  Not only does it help dissolve negative energy like black tourmaline, but it also energizes and reinvigorates you. Citrine can help to uplift our mood, just like the sun does, and brings joy wherever it goes.

Unlike most other gems and crystals, citrine rarely if ever, needs clearing or cleansing. It attracts prosperity and promotes a refreshing mind full of confidence.

Carrying citrine with you will give you an energy boost, make you happier and attract positive experiences into your life.  During this crazy stressful time in our school year, this little pocket of sunshine couldn’t be more welcome.

Sodalite

This is another must-have for the stressed-out student. Not only does this blue beauty assist with absorbing negative energies and electromagnetic pollution, but sodalite also helps to promote clear communication, heightens intuition and builds confidence.

It helps ease anxiety, panic attacks, mental confusion and fears.  It encourages discipline and will, which allow us to use more logic and intuition in our lives.  It’s ideal for students as it facilitates mental function and the absorption of new information.  If you have trouble with sleeping, it even helps ease insomnia.

Sodalite is also one of my favourites not only because it’s gorgeous, but as a student who takes her work seriously, if it helps me retain what I learn, gives me mental clarity, clear communications and helps me sleep.

I hope this list of gems helps ease your stress and anxiety during your heightened workload this semester and in the future. They are beautiful little gifts from our earth that will work for you as long as you need their amazing energy around.

The ones I’ve listed are super easy to acquire and are quite affordable at any crystal shop around Montreal. Pierres d’Ailleurs and Charme et Sortilège are two of my faves.

Be sure to take care of them and get the proper cleaning and charging instructions for whichever ones you use, to get the most out of them.  I know they have helped me first hand and hope you’ll incorporate them into your life for their amazing benefits.
