How would you describe your style?
Since my interests are so eclectic and varied, my style ends up reflecting that. It really fluctuates with my mood.  In general, I love classic pieces, like dresses with great silhouettes or lace embellishments.  The term “playful sophistication” works, but I think I stole that from Kate Spade. My style doesn’t fit in any particular category; it ranges from vintage-inspired to preppy or urban chic and everything in between.  I don’t have a stringent set of rules; I just wear clothing I like that makes me feel confident.  As much as I love to dress up, I equally enjoy a day spent in workout clothes.

Who are your style inspirations?
I love the fashion vibe of the 60s; I’d say fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly come to mind. The innovations put forth by designers like Oscar de La Renta and Cristóbal Balenciaga inspire me as well. There’s a lesser-known Cuban designer, Fernando Pena, who was also incredible. In terms of contemporary inspirations, Kate Middleton and Amal Clooney do a fantastic job of striking a balance between professional and elegant without overdoing it. They’ve both mastered combining designer with plenty of non-designer pieces. I really like Penelope Cruz’s style as well.

Where are your favorite places to shop (student-budget wise and for splurges)?
I’ll shop anywhere that catches my eye, and I love a good deal. I really like J. Crew (they let you combine your student discount with sale items!), BCBG, L.K. Bennet, Kate Spade, Club Monaco and Armani Exchange. For bags, I like Tory Burch and Michael Kors. I worked at DKNY, so I feel like I should include them as well.  Splurge-wise, I’d say Sandro, Hervé Leger, Burberry, Chanel…and, for dream splurges, Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad gowns!

What are your fashion essentials?
A great pair of beige heels, a go-to dress that can be worn day-to-night and some fun accent rings.

What extra-curriculars are you involved in on campus?
I am President of the Columbia College Student Ambassadors, which is our student alumni group, and I was President of the Columbia Republicans last year. I have also been involved with Columbia Cheer, Figure Skating Club, the Undergraduate Recruiting Committee and the Columbia Political Union.

What are you usually doing on a Friday night?
Catching up on sleep or seeing a play!
