Hey foodies, Hicks Dining Hall can get kind of old. And as the end of the semester is approaching and the weather is warming up, you know you deserve to treat yourself. Sometimes you have to get off campus and try something new. So here’s a list of some of the best foodie destinations close to campus:

 

1. Kindbelly Café

This healthier dining option is about thirty minutes away from campus in North Myrtle Beach. This Café for breakfast and lunch, makes healthy and organic meal options truly tasty. They serve smoothies, acai bowls, wraps, grain bowls, and more. It is a great place for all dietary needs.

 

2. Peace Love & Little Donuts

These donuts are unique and delicious, with literally dozens of flavors and options. You can choose from “Funkadelic”, “Far-Out”, and “Groovy”  flavor categories that include tasty options like “Apple Pie”, “Magically Delicious”, and “Buttafinga”. At this donut shop you can “Feed Your Inner Hippie” and grab your “Disco Dozen” by driving to the Market Commons.

 

3. The Trestle

This adorable bakery and restaurant about fifteen minutes away in Conway, is a great place to grab lunch or a dessert. The Bakery offers items from fresh bread to specialty cakes to French eclairs. The restaurant has a Mom and Pop atmosphere with delicious dining options and specialty flavored sodas and beverages.

 

4. Sweet Ice

This flavorful dining option offers bubble tea and Thai rolled ice cream for all the “sweet -toothers” out there. There is a wide variety of flavors including “Purple Rain”, “Dancing Mango”, and “Green Tea Lava”. You can order online or go to their location twenty minutes away near Coastal Grand Mall.

 

5. Costa Bowls

This dining option is for all the fruit and smoothie lovers. They offer smoothies, oatmeal bowls, and smoothie bowls. The smoothie bowls are acai or pitaya (dragon fruit) based and are incredibly delicious. You can try these tropical bowls by driving over to the Market Commons.

 

6. Waffles & Cream

This unique dessert place, is exactly as it sounds with ice cream and waffles. You can try waffle sundaes, waffle nachos, waffle sticks, and more. Try this delicious combo of sweets for a scrumptious dessert. They are open seasonally and are located twenty-five minutes away at Broadway on the Beach.
