Hi ever-faithful-readers!

This is your EIC here, Royall B., providing you a monthly update on our chapter and how awesome we are (because let’s face it, bragging is the best thing I get to do in this position).

Okay, I actually decided I wanted to do a monthly letter to all of you because I believe in transparency. I also want this to count as a thank-you letter to all of you, oh-wonderful readers. Without all of you and your continued support, HC CNU wouldn’t be where it is today.

We are over one month into classes at CNU, coming up on Fall Break, and our chapter has had three articles go National so far – 13 Expectations Grey’s Anatomy Fans Have for Season 13 by freshman Olivia Forry, A Letter to A Former Best Friend by freshman Danni Bauer, and Is Love Really a Battlefield? What It’s like to Love with Anxiety by senior Taylor Jackson! I am so proud of these ladies for their hard work and dedication to our team. Great writing like this is one of the things that CNU prides itself on, and this is proof of that.

I have such a great E-board, too – if you haven’t already checked my team out, please do so! We all have such great ideas running around, and we can’t wait to put them in place! Also, we love Her Campus, but that’s just a side thing I guess…

Be on the lookout for some upcoming events *cough* Halloween *cough* Fall *cough* because we’re working on those right now!

Also, make sure you like, follow, and add us on all our social media channels so that you can stay up-to-date on all of our giveaways and more.. If you pay close attention, you’ll notice we’re gonna be adding a new channel soon…

If you ever have any suggestions on what we should write, have a comment about an article you read (we welcome criticism, too!), or just want to send in some HC love to us – email us at cnu@hercampus.com.

Study hard for midterms, enjoy Fall Break, and stay classy, Captains!

HCXO,

Royall B., HC CNU Campus Correspondent

You can categorize Royall as either Leslie Knope when she has her color-coded binders:

or Hyde whenever Jackie comes into a room before they start dating:

There is no in-between.

Royall recently graduated with her B.A. in Sociology & Anthropology from CNU and now studies Government & International Relations at Regent University. She also serves as the Victim Advocate and Community Outreach Coordinator for Isle of Wight Co., VA in Victim Witness Services. Within Her Campus, she served as a Chapter Writer for CNU for one year, a Campus Expansion Assistant for a semester, Campus Correspondent for two years, and is in the middle of her second semester as a Chapter Advisor.

You can find her in the corner of a subway-tiled coffee shop somewhere, investigating identity experiences of members of Black Greek Letter Organizations at Primarily White Institutions as well as public perceptions of migrants and refugees. Or fantasizing about ziplining arcoss the French Alps.
