CNU Is Getting A Chipotle… And A Starbucks!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CNU chapter.

A few weeks ago, Jenna wrote an article listing ideas of stores that could go into the empty Schooner’s and Yogurtini storefronts in the Village. On March 29th, the Daily Press published an article telling us just what that was.

A Chipotle. And a Starbucks!

This news, of course, is seeing both positive and negative feedback. While much of campus is excited to get these storefronts, others wonder what it means for similar food retail stores, like the already existing Moe’s and Albert Einstein’s Cafe. Only time will tell to see how things will work out between the similar storefronts. Some think that adding Chipotle and Starbucks will cause Moe’s and Einstein’s to be forced out of business, but I argue that Einstein’s might be a bit safer than Moe’s due to its central campus location and already present customer base of students and staff. Many consumers using the Starbucks in the Village will most likely be non-CNU patrons, anyways. Moe’s, on the other hand, has its fate left to be decided.

Regardless, I’m just happy I get to keep my Gold Status.

Additionally, Saturday, April 15th, Francesca’s Collections, a specialty clothing store that has locations in MacArthur Center in Norfolk and Peninsula Towne Center in Hampton, will be hosting its grand opening in Patrick Henry Mall. According to the Facebook Event, the first 20 customers will receive a gift card.
