13 Ways to Chill During Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CNU chapter.

Hi, everybody! I hope you are having a fabulous Thursday. Next week, finals start, and it’s freak-out time. I personally have two finals on Monday and two finals on Thursday back-to-back. I say we all have full permission to start freaking out, but that is not what we are going to do. We are going to stay calm and chill because I know I’ve got this, and I know you’ve got this.

Ok, first things first: STUDY!!! You can not be at peace with finals until you’ve studied for finals. I will be using the study guides provided, quizlet (quizlet mainly because it’s the best), and practice problems (Math. I hate math). So, between everything I am about to tell you to do, make sure you study.

Breathing

Honestly, just breathe. When you feel yourself getting wacky in the head, just take a breath.

Do Nothing

Go on Social Media

Just catching up on Insta and Twitter can make you feel a lot better.

Shower

Sometimes you just need some steam and music to get your mind off of finals.

Meditate

This is an advancement of breathing.

Read

Reading a good book can transfer you from real life into the life of the book for a little bit.

Have a Bath

If this option is available to you, get some music, your favorite bath bomb, and relax in the warm/hot water

Take a Walk

Getting away from your room or the library and enjoying some fresh air will give you the space you need, and it will refuel you with energy to ace finals.

Go to the Gym

This option lets you work on yourself physically, but it lets your self relax mentally.

Get a Coffee

You will probably already be buzzed on coffee, but you will not take this one back to the library. Get some friends, sit on the great lawn, and enjoy your coffee

Eat

No, not a quick snack–I am talking about a meal. Again, grab a friend and enjoy a meal together.

Nap

Don’t stay up all night cramming. That is the complete opposite of what needs to happen. Take a nap and rest your brain

Netflix/Hulu/any other tv options

Watch the latest episode of your favorite series. Forget about school for an hour or so and enjoy the show.

Finals are stressful, but we can get through it. Take some time for yourself. I hope you enjoyed my ways of getting through finals.
