This is another great floral design for spring, and I think mixing the floral pattern with something simple like stripes or polka dots really makes it more fun.  The flowers may look complicated, but they’re actually really similar to leopard print like this one.  I chose to do stripes for this design because I think they are a nice contrast to the round roses.

What you’ll need:

– Nail polish: a base color, a light and dark pink for the roses, and white.  I used Essie’s “Where’s my Chauffer?” for the base, Sinful Colors “Beautiful Girl” and Jessica “Prune Whip” for the pinks, and Sinful Colors “Snow Me White.”

– A thin striping brush for the stripes

– A dotting tool for the details (and polka dots, if you don’t want to do stripes)

How to do it:

1)  Paint your base coat and let it dry.

2)  Make 2-4 spots on every other nail with the light pink.  You can use a dotting tool or the nail polish brush, depending on how big or precise you want them to be.  They don’t have to be perfect!

3)  After it dries, use your dotting tool and dark pink to add the details.  I made a large curve (like a parenthesis) on one side, a smaller one on the opposite side, and a little one in the middle.  You don’t want to make these outlines of the light pink spots—they should end about 1/3 of the way from the edge.

4)  While that dries, add your white stripes or polka dots on the alternate fingers.

5) If you want, you can add leaves to the roses with a green nail polish. Otherwise, let everything dry, and seal it in with a topcoat!
