What the Women of GOT Taught Me

One of the things I love about HBO is the diverse female characters their shows represent. From serious shows like Westworld to funny shows like Veep, there is no shortage of female characters. One of the most popular shows, Game of Thrones, is no exception. Their multifaceted, deep characters has allowed me to feel represented in such an awesome, action packed show. Each women is different, offering a different inspiration on what it means to be powerful and female.

Daenerys Targaryen

This platinum haired beauty is a fan favorite and it’s easy to see why. Her passion, determination and morality have taught me to always take the high road. You’ll be surprised where it could lead you.

Arya Stark

My personal favorite, this spunky underdog has always shown she can fight her way through strife. Arya has taught me that you should embrace the many faces of your personality.

Cersei Lannister

This seemingly heartless queen is a master manipulator and a cunning foe. Cersei has taught me that you should never be afraid to use the resources you have at your disposal. She fights for what she wants and she isn’t afraid to do what she has to.

Olenna Tyrell

This matriarch is the baddest of all these boss women. She time and again proves her cunning, wit and her fierce loyalty to her family. Olenna Tyrrell has taught me that you should always value your intelligence, because it will make you the strongest opponent out there.

Sansa Stark

Sansa’s strength is underrated, mostly because she didn’t have the best start in the “Game of Thrones” series. However, she’s shown me that your adversity can help you grow and become the leader you were meant to be. Sanasa had to embrace her situation and the changes it left made her a stronger, fiercer woman.
