Tips & Tricks For the End of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

There’s never a time that is too early to start preparing for the end of the semester. With 10 days until fall break, the semester will start to get very hectic. After fall break, there’s only a week and a half of classes and then Thanksgiving break! After that, there’s only one week before finals! Like I said, hectic! I want to help make the last few months of the semester be nice and smooth for everyone, so i’ve compiled a list of life hacks to help you get through these rough times.

1. If you have something you need to do for/by a set amount of time, such as working out, studying, leaving the house, set a playlist for as long as you have to do the task.

This is much better than just setting a timer because you are more involved in the music and if you remember what you have on your playlist, you’ll know you’re getting closer to be able to take a break from studying!

2. Use scholar.google.com for information for essays.

The information from these types of sources are much more relevant and you’ll find the information much faster

3. Chewing gum while studying a subject and then chewing the same flavored gum during the tests helps you remember the information!

4. You are 50% more likely to remember something if you write it down!

You are also more likely to accomplish something if you write it down. If you have goals you want to accomplish by the end of the semester, write them down!

5. Write essays as if you’re speaking to a crowd. If you can’t imagine dropping the mic after the last sentence, the conclusion needs to be stronger!

Also imagine the crowd in their underwear to avoid stage fright :)

6. Drink lots of water to keep you awake and hydrated. Throw in some multivitamins to keep you healthy during these cold months.

Especially during those late nights, make sure you drink plenty of fluids, preferably water, to keep you awake and your mind at your best.

7. Send yourself a motivational email from the past!!

Go to FutureMe.org and you can send an email from the past to your future self to keep you motivated during those study times.

8. When you’re running low on cash, use www.supercook.com.

Just enter your ingredients and it’ll match recipes from the most popular cooking websites.

9. Keep your living space clean.

You will feel much much better if you are studying, sleeping, or just living in a clean area.

10. !Lazy Life Hack Alert! If you didn’t see someone important that day, you can totally wear the same clothes the day after.

Don’t worry. I won’t judge.

Keep your chin up, ladies! You can make it through the rest of the semester, even if you do wear the same shirt two days in a row!
