What organizations are you involved in on campus?

I am a member of the College of Business Leadership Committee, the sophomore representative for the Management Student Advisory Board, the recently retired Executive Secretary Director for the CUSG President’s Cabinet (2016-2017), a Phonathon Student Caller, and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

What made you want to come to Clemson?

My sister is currently a Senior Bioengineering major at Clemson. When I came to visit her during her first years here I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere, the campus, and the Clemson family. Additionally, the Clemson business program was a well-known, respectable program that was incredibly welcoming when I toured the college. The administration within the Business Program went out of their way to call me after I received my acceptance letter to answer any questions and let me know more about the CUBS program which was incredibly thoughtful.

What made you want to become involved in CUSG?

I wanted to be involved in an organization that truly had a positive impact on Clemson University. With no prior Student Government experience throughout my life, I was nervous to apply but my passion for what President Wilson and Vice President Seidman stood for encouraged me to go for it. Looking back on it now, my involvement with this amazing organization was one of the best moves I could have made for myself.

What hopes do you have for CUSG next year and future executive secretaries?

I hope the new President, Vice President, and CUSG members continue to drive our University in a positive direction and uphold the legacy of excellence left to them by their predecessors. As for future executive secretaries specifically, be as involved as you can be. Help cabinet directors as much as possible, attend meetings, plan events, take this as a learning experience and an opportunity to leave a mark on our beloved university.

What was one of the most exciting parts of your sophomore year?

Outside of my clubs and academics, I was able to attend a Beyonce concert in the fall. I bought the tickets over the summer without knowing my exam times, thinking about classes, or the fact that the concert was on a Monday night. But luckily it worked out so that I didn’t miss anything important academically and it turned into one of the best nights of my life. The concert was part of the Formation World Tour hosted in Atlanta, GA and I went with my best friend Maggie Inman and my cousin Billy Rollins (pictured). Honestly, all I have to say is that Beyonce is a queen.

What is a quote that you live by?

“Life is short, eat the cookie.” -Morgan Reeves

What are your plans for after graduation?

After graduation I plan to be a traitor and attend USC to receive my Master’s in Human Resource Management.
