5 Surefire Gifts For Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

Haven’t gotten your significant other a gift for Valentine’s Day yet? While buying things for a person you care about can get stressful, it doesn’t have to be. Here are some ideas of gifts that even the Grinch would have a hard time finding fault with.

1. Gift Cards. Maybe it isn’t the most glamorous gift, but you can never go wrong with a nice gift card to a store that the person you love is obsessed with. Put a hefty $20-$50 amount on one complete with nice packaging and some of your SOs favorite treats, and they will be eternally grateful.     2. Quirky Inside Jokes   Whether you’ve known your Valentine for 15 years or 5 days, there’s sure to be an event you both recall and look fondly on. Think back to when you met or their likes and dislikes if nothing comes to mind right away. If you met your date in a class with a mutually despised professor, incorporate him or her into it! Get creative. But remember the content doesn’t matter when it comes to a personalized gift like this. The person will be thrilled you incorporated a mutual memory into your gift to them.   3. Photo-blankets, photobooks, photo-mugs, etc.    In a digital world, it’s become increasingly uncommon to find any physical copies of photographs anymore. Anyone can appreciate the thoughtfulness of taking time out to find a nice picture and replicating it onto another platform. A photo gift should ideally be given to a person you have been seeing for a semi-long time.

4. Dinner at their favorite spot.   We all love food. If you just have a date for a night, simply ask a friend of your Valentine where they like to eat, dress up fancy, and have a great time out!    5. Nothing   You heard me, nothing. Valentine’s Day just isn’t for everyone, even if you are in a long-term relationship. As long as you mutually agree to not get each other gifts, it’s perfectly acceptable (and sometimes preferred) to simply enjoy each-others company for the day!   I hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day!
