5 Thoughts You Have During Your Last Year of College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clarion chapter.

There are so many thoughts that pop into the heads of a college student. Here are a few we will all experience as our college career comes to an end.

1. Do I really have to go to class?

Ahhh… the sweet feeling of senioritis. We all get it. I’m sure some of us have even had it before our senior year ever began! You wake up in the morning, hit the snooze button about 15 times, then once you open your eyes you really question if you actually need to go to class. You skim through the syllabus and look to see if each class counts for points. Then you have to think about how many classes you have already missed. It happens! No, I am not encouraging skipping your 9 a.m. classes, but it is okay to hit snooze a couple more times and miss your class. Just don’t make it a habit!

2. Yes, I am dressed like a hobo…

So what? We all get that feeling when we wake up and just do not want to get out of bed. You keep closing your eyes and falling asleep for a second just to wake up and have to rush to get ready for class. The struggle really is real. You end up getting out of bed and looking in the mirror and saying in your head “I have no one to impress today” and walking straight out the door. Who cares? They will have this feeling at some point as well.

3. Bye-bye friends

Think about all of the new friends you have met throughout your college years. Now, think about where all of these friends live in correlation to where you are going to be living after you graduate. It could be minutes away, it could be 2 hours away, it could be 15 hours away. It is time to jot down your friends addresses and plan visitation weekends because goodbye is coming sooner than you think.

4. What the heck am I doing with my life?

We have all been there, and if you haven’t, you will get this feeling soon. Sometimes you will just sit in class and ask yourself, “wait, is this really what I want to do for the rest of my life?” While in college, you don’t really have time to think about what life will be like once you grab your degree and run. It’s time to put your grown-up pants on because life is about to get real.

5. Reality check It finally hits you that you are about to be a graduate…

And you still have no clue what you want to do once you end your college career. Then you call your parents to hear them say that it’s time for you to find your own place. You are a broke college student with not a clue in the world how to adult by yourself. It’s time to buckle down and check into reality!
