Juicing: Cincinnati Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cincinnati chapter.

Juice (noun): the natural fluid, fluid content, or liquid part that can be extracted from a plant or one of its parts, especially of a fruit” (dictionary.com)

So is juicing really worth it? Yes, it’s a lot easier, faster, and usually tastier to get your daily fruits and vegetables in if you’re drinking them! There are a lot of health benefits to doing juice-cleanses or adding these juices into your diet occasionally; some would be making you feel energized, help with your digestive system and help with your complexion! If you’re an on-the-go person like me and want something quick, but also nutritious this is the perfect fix.

Did you know Cincinnati has stepped up its juicing game? If not or if you just haven’t tried this new “juicing” phenomenon, I challenge you to try one of the places listed below.

Off The Vine This juice bar is located in OTR and was the first juice bar I’d ever been to. It was a great first place to learn more about why you should juice! They have it set up with a large bar and you can buy juice flights; so pick out a few samples of what you want to try and learn about their health benefits. My personal favorite is GLOW, it taste amazing but is also good for your skin, hair and nails. I really recommend going to OTV if you’re new to juicing. The workers are very knowledgeable and can help you out!

Rooted Rooted is located in Oakley and is more than just any juice bar! They also make organic plant-based foods, raw deserts and smoothies! I would say this is more of a place to go sit down, relax and get some lunch along with a juice or smoothie. The shop has an awesome setup with lots of options. Their main goal is to provide Cincinnati with healthy juices and foods and they are exceeding that goal.

The Weekly Juicery The last juice bar I am going to talk about is located in Hyde Park, but also has a couple other locations in Kentucky. They offer fresh juices, smoothies and raw foods. The Juicery is all about being convenient yet healthy so it’s a great place to make a quick stop and stock up on your juices for the week! It’s amazing how they can make fruits and vegetables taste so good!

That is just a quick look at a few juice bars Cincinnati has to offer. I’m sure once you start trying juices and see the positive results from them you won’t want to stop! It is a delicious way to get in all your nutrients. If you want to learn more about these places, be sure to check them out on Facebook!
