The Struggle of Going to the Gym: As Told By Nicole Richie

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

The gym can be defined by one word: a struggle. We do it anyways though because we know just how important it is to be active. Between actually deciding to put down the Netflix and go workout, to doing another rep of leg lifts, working out can seriously be a struggle and there is no better person than Nicole Richie to explain that struggle.

1. You wake up in the morning and finally decide today is the day. You are going to hit the gym and work out!

2. You question your decision for a few minutes while looking at your computer and realizing you didn’t finish that episode of Gilmore Girls.

3. No, you are going to go to that gym if it’s the last thing you do! Time to go get dressed..

4. You put on your cutest colored Nikes and look at the computer screen one last time, but you finally decide to leave with some optimism!

5. You strut into the gym trying to find an open machine.

6. Oh look, that treadmil is open! Thank god!

7. Treadmill, I will conquer you! Let’s do this!

8. Oh my god, why do my legs hurt?! What is this ungodly feeling?! Why am I running?

9. Oh crap, look at that cute boy. Just keep running, just keep running. Why isn’t he looking at me running?

10. Wow, I am finally getting a hang of this!

11. It’s only been 15 minutes?! Are you serious?? Well, looks like that is enough for now.

12. Man, I am pooped. Well, looks like it is time to peace out. Time to celebrate my accomplishment!
