New counties = new restaurants to hunt down. I love digging my feet into new cities and enjoying myself with their plates. Each new city always has its low-key places that only the locals know, and I eventually fall in love with. Food is life, am I right? Being an advocate for well-being, I’m always on the lookout for a plate filled with healthy eats… the ā€œcoolnessā€ of a restaurant helps too. Orange County is a dreamland for the sorts. Here is what I’ve found (and worked at) during my stay:

GratitudeĀ Newport Beach

Gratitude, of the Gratitude CafĆ© chain, serves 100 percentĀ organic and plant-based food. Its purpose is to create a sustainable practice for the community and planet, and to express gratitude for the nourishment received from both. The experience is very unique at Gratitude… you could sit on the patio for hours and feel that only 20 minutes have passed. If you like vegan food… go here!

Active CultureĀ Laguna Beach

Active Culture is good for a quick bite. It has a lunch-based menu with salads, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, etc. Then… if you’re craving something sweet, it has serve-yourself frozen yogurt. It’s a perfect spot for pre or post-beach trips!

Meads Green Door Café Orange

So close to Chapman University… legit a walk away! This place is perfect for any time of the day; it serves breakfast, lunchĀ and dinner. Also… the 100 percentĀ vegan pastry collection satisfies the sweet tooth. It’s got a funky, hippie type vibe in there… guarantee you sit and enjoy the scene while studying a while.

Vibe Organic Kitchen & JuiceĀ Santa Ana Heights

Disclaimer: I haven’t been here yet! However, friends have told me it’s good. I will be going soon.

SeabirdsĀ Costa Mesa

If you like Mexican food, just do yourself a favor and go. Plant-based eating… enough said. It’s located in The Anti-Mall/The Lab and across the street from The Camp, so it’s a perfect spot to stop while hitting the stores.
