The Umbrella Academy is an American web TV series created by Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater for Netflix. It is an adjustment of the comic book arrangement of a similar name, made by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, and distributed by Dark Horse Comics. The plot revolves around a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who rejoin to fathom the puzzle of their dad’s passing and the risk of an approaching end of the world.

If you watched the Netflix movie What Happened To Monday, then you’d love this new Netflix series! (that I finished in three days). The series only has one season and ten episodes, making it seemingly easy to get through.

The way this show comes on amazes me. It’s not a spoiler alert so I’m going to explain it to you guys.

The shows come on in the year 1989 at an indoor community pool. There are some older people doing exercises in the pool and having a good ole time. Then in the meantime, there’s a young boy and girl kinda flirting with each other.

You can tell that they are both incredibly nervous. Then the girl does something cute, she kisses the boy on the cheek then runs and jumps into the pool. The boy then waits for her to come up form the water and when she was taking too long a worried expression is on his face.

The pool water was no longer blue but it was now red! The girl finally comes up for air and she is screaming her lungs out. The next scene shows her giving birth and all you can hear is the tearing of her pushing the child. In my mind, I’m thinking we as an audience are watching and HEARING her give birth.  She was just scared about kissing a boy on the cheek!

On October 1, 1989, 43 ladies around the globe conceive a child at the same time, regardless of none of them appearing indication of pregnancy until labor began. Seven of the kids are adopted by capricious very rich person Sir Reginald Hargreeves, and transformed into a superhuman team through what he calls “The Umbrella Academy”. Hargreaves has given youngsters numbers as opposed to names, yet they in the long run come to be known as Klaus, Luther, Diego, Allison, Ben, and Vanya. Number Five is never named. While giving six of his kids something to do battling wrongdoings, Reginald keeps Vanya separated from her sibling’s activities, as she seemingly has no powers of her own.

In the present day, Luther is an astronaut, Allison is a famous actress, Vanya is a violinist, Klaus is a party animal with drug addiction, Ben is a ghost only able to converse with Klaus, and Diego has become a vigilante with a penchant for trouble. The estranged siblings learn that Reginald has died and gathered for his funeral. Number Five returns from the future, revealing that a global apocalypse is imminent. Meanwhile, the reunited siblings try to uncover the secret of their dysfunctional family while beginning to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities.

That’s all I’m going to tell you about the show, I don’t want to tell you the whole plot and ruin it. Although I will say this! If you enjoy a good Sci-fi about time traveling then this is the show that you should be watching!
