“The Darker the Flesh the Louder the Cry”

They use our black bodies as target practice,

Feeling so stuck and burdened in a world that want to catch us,

Lynched

Burned

Combat Zone

Violent Thug Was Walking Down the Block, Minding His Own

Captivating for the headline

Did I mention that they shot my homie, dead blind?

Still we’re mentally enslaved

Today is just a replay of back in the old day

Nothing’s changed

The louder we cry, the more they shoot us

To silence our voices like we’re the intruders

Of their desire to kill us

Amerikkka’s white washed so they want to dilute us

No mixing us together, who segregation?

CHA enforced the ghettos, black vacant

Preying on the dark berry, to move less scary

Praying and crying does nothing but keep our hands to bury

Paid leave, pigs play tag on our lives like an episode of Tom and Jerry

Remember when they murdered my bro named Larry

Kept his dead body laid out for hours, hail mary

Surrounding him, cops shaking all wary

They couldn’t give a fuck about the struggles that we carry

Crooked for the hell of it, the system’s very shaky

Dylann still alive when he shot up the church Roof, how creepy

Subliminal actions, Burger King they wouldn’t treat me

Justice for all is nigga you lyin’ spelled backwards

Cops claim to be scared, then retire you fucking cowards

Pull us over pretending to keep it short and sweet

Plotting our death the whole time , misery loves company

Officer am I being detained? Cuz I ain’t showing no ID

Protest and march all year but fuck 12

Months and months after no justice for Lil’ Melv

They want my hands up, no protecting myself

No justice, no peace, here comes more stress

Different hashtag, same scenario, no progress

Using social platforms to stay woke, no press

Everybody want to be black ‘till it’s time to be black but I digress

Hunting us down for more access

To privileged power and wealth

Poisoning us with shit to stagger our health

More deaths in 2016 than I could count on two hands

As for the media it’s nothing but construed irrelevance

Justice is in the eye of the beholder, slave owner

All lives matter my ass, cops are getting bolder

8 bodies down, pigs laugh to praise over shoulder

Stats prove they kill off blacks more, no folder

Genocide, no loafer

Blood dashing, our days are only getting colder

Clean up on aisle CPD, they corrupt so

All faults to the victim, no jury order

Destroyed evidence, refused reports and

What’s the truth cuz there’s no settling

Sleepless nights cuz we ain’t resting

We demanding, we questioning

Like why the fuck this shit keep happening

Shot the pigs down with facts, they cramming

Under pressure to be truthful under oath, more planning
