5 Reasons to Fall in Love With Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

Dearest Readers, it’s a pleasure to announce that Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has successfully achieved all of society’s expectations. The royalty life is certainly a very interesting subject, isn’t it?

But, I found out that not every lady and gentleman is convinced to see more of Queen Charlotte and King George’s life. So, for those who haven’t watched, let’s see five reasons to fall in love with the spin-off, shall we?

The cast

The breathtaking chemistry between Charlotte and George is undeniable, all thanks to India Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest. The new faces delivered sensitivity and devotion to the role, leading us to believe that they will do big things in the future.

Besides acting like the King and Queen, and attending to their respective duties, the couple has a bunch of “domestic” scenes – and hot ones, of course. If you love to love romantic duos and see their affection getting bigger, the Netflix series can offer you that.

Female empowerment

Nothing is better than seeing strong women in period clichés, and in Bridgerton’s world there are plenty of them. They can come from ruling England at the age of 17, like Charlotte, to those who take charge of their own lives after being raised to live for a man, like Lady Danbury.

But, in both cases, they put their head up and face the difficulties. The Queen helps George during his bad days, and helps him in ruling England. On the other hand, Agatha Danbury fights for titles and the end of prejudice in high society.

Real life inspired

Although most of the scenes were fictional, some things were actually real! Your Majesty, Queen Charlotte was indeed alive and had 15 children with King George III. They really got married a few hours after meeting each other, and yet were able to fall in love.

But sadly, just like the show, the King suffered from a mental illness that affected his life and duties. The torture to “cure” George of his illness happened too.

SET UP FOR SEASON 3

Through the episodes, one thing becomes very clear: Violet Bridgerton will be looking for a lover, as she should! And you better keep an eye on Violet and Lady Danbury’s friendship because it seems to be quite promising.

Also, a proper bet for this season would be the continuation of Charlotte’s search to marry her sons. Are you ready for all that?

The love confessions

Everyone agrees that Julia Quinn is the queen of writing love scenes capable of melting even the coldest of hearts. The miniseries shows what real love is. It’s not always a bed of roses, but the moments together are like fireworks, incomparable and magical.

From Daphne, to Anthony, and now Queen Charlotte and King George, love always thrives. Even with bad things happening, they find a way to end their problems and let love be the greatest thing in their lives.

And with these – and many other reasons -, we desperately need another season of this Bridgerton spin-off that has won the hearts of the fans. Even though the production was only projected for one season, the huge success may change that.

Did we convince you? Tell us!
