5 Accounts On Instagram That Are Good For Your Mental Health

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

Seems like nowadays we’re all in a bit of a struggle with our mental health, one way or another. In the era of social media, we are constantly connected but somehow feel just the opposite – disconnected. Disconnected from each other, from the truth, from reality, eventually even from ourselves.

In a world of Internet madness, it’s nice to spread a little joy and take a break from the “egotrips” and all the other weirdness. Especially on Instagram, where those are pretty much 24/7.

On that very social network, however, many people log in to simply be kind. Hard to believe? Well, it’s true. It’s become a trend: accounts whose only purpose is to spread the word of kindness, selfcare, love and mental health awareness. Here’s a few examples of those.

Anxiety Wellbeing (@anxiety_wellbeing)

This account proposes to help those who suffer from anxiety. With around 430k followers and over 800 posts it’s popularity seems to grow by the minute. Their focus is mainly on anxiety but other subjects such as depression also eventually comes up. Under each post, there’s an article, some tools and a mindset inspiring quote are added. Pretty good content!

Mental Health (@emotions_therapy)

This one is a favorite. Its content covers up depression, anxiety, ocd and also eating disorders such as anorexia. Even though those are all really heavy subjects, the posts carry really light, positive and wholesome messages. You’ll also find many posts that spread awareness and really important information about the health and well-being of the mind as well as the body.

Your Daily Inspiration (@sunnybloominspiration)

This one is committed to spreading positivity as well as empowering women and providing daily inspiration. With really cute, pastel-colored and wholesome posts, it doesn’t fail to bring some light and joy into one’s day. You won’t regret following it.

My Self-Love Supply (@myselflovesupply)

Unfortunately, it’s so easy to diminish our self-worth and forget how truly beautiful we really are. Thankfully, accounts like this one help us remind ourselves of the truth: there’s no reason not to love who we are entirely. If you’re in need of a little reminder, give it a look.

Girls Building Empires (@girlsbuildingempires)

This one is for the ladies! Self-entitled “the Number 1 Community for Ambitious Women”, this account’s purpose is to provide daily motivation and education for girls and women out there who wanna grow into their careers as well as in their personal lives. Amazing, right?! No wonder it has 1M followers.

Ready to feel inspired and good with yourself? Don’t forget to follow these accounts!
