I began the practice of manifestation just over a year ago, and if I’m being honest, I have really enjoyed implementing it into my routine. That being said, I am in no way claiming that manifestation is the power of everything and the key to life. However, I must say it’s a pretty fun activity that also sets you up for your future goals and aspirations.

While I love daily mental and oral manifestations, my favourite and (and in my opinion, the most effective) method of manifestation is visual manifestation. I like to visually manifest in the form of a vision board at the beginning of every year. But this is not just any ordinary vision board –– this board takes thought, time, a lot of glue, and candles!

Step One:

Now that we are somehow already nearing the end of 2021, it’s time to start considering what goals you would like to achieve in 2022. This can literally be anything and it’s all about what you hope to invite into your life in the upcoming year. This can be as superficial as getting that cute pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing or something more substantial like going on your ideal trip.

This first step is the most important, so take your time with it! Really evaluate what your ideal 2022 looks like.

Step Two:

Once you’ve decided what you’d like to include on your vision board, it’s time to go on a hunt for visual representation. This is probably my favorite step in the crafting process!

Pinterest is a great tool for this stage, and definitely a better alternative to something like Google images, as the content on Pinterest has a tendency to be much more creative and generally more visually appealing all-around. Don’t skimp on the images here, you will need enough to fill an entire bristol board’s worth.

Step Three:

It’s crafting time, baby! In this step, you will require a bristol board. I like to use a simple whiteboard, scissors, a glue stick, and printed images — don’t immediately start gluing down your images! First, place them on the board to make sure they all fit together the way you would like.

Even though it can be tedious, do not skimp on this step as it is very important that your vision board is visually appealing to you, as you will be looking at it for the next year.

Step Four:

Once you have finished the creative process of the vision board, it’s time to meditate on it! Grab your candles, put on some meditation music, dim the lights, and Google a manifesting prayer that appeals to you. Repeat the prayer with the poster board laid out in front of you while making sure to really take in all the visual goals you have set for yourself.

Once completing the prayer, I like to do a small meditation just to lock in the intention and sentiment of the manifestation.

Step Five:

Make sure to keep the board in a visible place so you can regularly check in on the goals that you’ve set for yourself at the beginning of the year. Then at the end of the year, check out everything on the board that you were able to bring to fruition as it is a very rewarding feeling to recognize what you have accomplished.

I hope you have as much fun as I do when creating your annual vision boards! With that said, vision boards are not meant to bring any extra stress into your life, so keep it lighthearted and do not allow yourself to be discouraged by the goals you potentially don’t achieve. Rather, focus on the ones you do!
