Hello Ladies!
It’s that time again for some hopefully life changing advice (or at the very least some helpful insight into the big bad world we live in). This week I am going to be discussing the topic of letting things go; be it an ex, a friend, or even some bad history, it is time to stop living in your past and start loving your present!
As humans it’s natural to hold on to things. For most people change is scary and unwanted, so they hold on to what they know and are sure of. But there comes a time when you are no longer able to do so and this is when you have to let things go.
I’ll give you an example! When I was younger I went through a lot with my family, mostly my father. When he finally came back better than ever, everyone in my family (my mom, brother, grandparents) was okay and they moved on and things got better; but not with me, I knew too much. I saw things a young girl should never see and I was angry. I didn’t want to forget or forgive so I held on and didn’t trust my father, or any man for that matter. I took this hateful and bitter attitude with me into high school until one day I saw this quote that states, “You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It won’t happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life.”
After reading that I decided to try it I was sick of being bitter and hateful. I repeated that mantra to myself and dedicated my time to things I love like books, music, fashion, and writing. After awhile I wasn’t so angry; I was happy and realized my father had changed. AND THAT’S WHAT I WANT FOR YOU!!
I want you to let go of the sleazy ex that doesn’t deserve you. Let go of that toxic friend who makes you feel bad. Let go of that troubled past and for the love of Zayn Malik do not let that past control your present and future!! I know it is hard, believe me I do, but remember as Steve Maraboli said, “You must learn to let go. Release the stress. You were never in control anyway.”
So again, let it go guys. Whatever it is that you should’ve let go long ago let it go. The freedom that comes next is something wild and true. Now to wrap this up I am going to leave you with yet another quote (I really love quotes, can you tell?): “If you want to be free, all you have to do is let go.”
