Keely Krasomil is a sophomore here at California Lutheran and she was born on September 25th, 1995 in Northridge, California where she was also raised. Her parents are Randy and Kathleen Krasomil and she is an only child. Before Cal Lu, Keely attended Concordia High School and after graduation, she went on to continue her education at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts after which she finally came to join us here at CLU.
Keely started her YouTube channel when she was ten years old and in the fifth grade. Her first ever video was a vlog with her cousin Bridget. She decided to start a channel on YouTube because she had always loved to create her own stuff and write “crazy skits.” When she first discovered YouTube, Bridget thought it was the “coolest thing ever to make your own movies and post them on the internet for all of your friends and other people from around the world to see.” Keely truly believes that it’s an incredible platform that allows people to express themselves, explore their imagination, and meet great people.
When asked if she felt as though YouTube had changed or helped her life in any way, she begun to explain to me how “it definitely has.” Keely told me about how she has met so many amazing people and how it has not only been an awesome method for her to express herself and her “crazy, eccentric ideas,” but it has also given her a great way of practicing her hobbies such as acting and film editing.Since starting her YouTube channel, she has collaborated with other creators/YouTubers. Because of this, she has also been able to help her friends in and out of school with film projects. She has also done other amazing things like attending VidCon. Since then, she has established many relationships through the “online community” in ways she would have never imagined. To Keely, the online community has a very unique and beautiful bond that she can’t explain in any other words but “simply magical” because “everyone relates to each other in many ways and we can never help but always laugh and have a blast!”
Altogether, Keely loves to make people laugh and filming videos helps her do that while having tons of fun in the process – she thoroughly enjoys every second of what she does.
