It’s spring break! Which means it’s time to take a moment and treat ourselves with good food for all the hard work and long days we’ve done so far this semester! This article is for all the foodies that live in Thousand Oaks, The San Fernando Valley and LA! I’m recommending some of my personal favorites as well as some suggestions I’ve heard great things about but are yet to try myself! Each suggestion is linked so you can check it out and not worry about googling it.

Thousand Oaks & Neighboring Areas

  1. Stacked– Some of the best burgers and milkshakes in the area! Use their iPad system to build your own on screen whilst sitting at your table. Located in The Oaks mall opposite The Chessecake Factory (another great suggestion)
  2. Eggs N Things- Want to try Swedish pancakes or have a tasty breakfast? This is the place to visit!
  3. Little Calf Creamery and Café– The best of both worlds! Why not have a sandwich or burger with a milkshake or before tucking into an ice cream!
  4. Toppers Pizza Place– The best place for award winning pizza whether eaten in or delivered to your door for a girls movie night.
  5. Natas Pastries – The perfect place for a sweet treat or for trying their signature Portuguese nata for the first time.
  6. Lemonade– Fresh, healthy food you can mix and match for your perfect lunch or dinner along with a cup of fresh lemonade.
  7. Shake Shack – The biggest rival to In-n-Out that’s worth a visit. Sorry In-n-Out!
  8. Mendocino Farms – Want to have a sandwich for lunch? This place has plenty of choices!
  9. Cici’s – The biggest menu I’ve ever seen ranging from pancakes to waffles to sandwiches to pasta to burgers!
  10. Sunlife Organics – Healthy smoothies and acai bowls perfect for a warm day, originally founded in Malibu.

The San Fernando Valley

  1. Sweet Butter Kitchen – A cute cafe that will never fail you! I recommend their nutella & banana pancakes!
  2. Bea Bea’s – The sister restaurant to CiCi’s that’s located in Burbank.
  3. Blu Jam Café – With a range of breakfast and lunch options on the menu be sure to check this place out in one of its six locations!
  4. MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company – The closest you will get to authentic Neapolitan pizza in LA.
  5. Pita Kitchen – Love Mediterranean food? This place may not look much on the outside but it’s what is on inside that counts!
  6. Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ – Try cooking your own food at the table – great for family dinners out and dates.
  7. GranvilleMy All Time Favorite – be sure to try their uptown mac ‘n cheese!
  8. The Local Peasant – British food with an American twist – if you fancy trying fish and chips this is the place to go.
  9. Crave Café – Open 24/7 this place offers everything on the menu at any hour.
  10. Aroma Coffee and Tea – Looking for a cute place to get a coffee and piece of cake? Well look no further because this place is perfect for that type of mood. I highly recommend their curly fries while you’re there!

LA

  1.  Urth Cafe – Originally known for its organic coffee and fine tea, it also has the best sweet treats and savory – I recommend the eggplant pizza and Spanish latte.
  2.  Joan’s On Third – Located on Third Street in Los Angeles and Studio City this is a popular spot to see celebrities!
  3. The Griddle Cafe – It’s all about brunch and their red velvet pancakes!
  4. Mel’s Drive-In – Fancy going back to the fifties? Turn on the jukebox and grab a milkshake.
  5. Pink’s Hot Dog – “A Hollywood legend since 1939” this place is a must if you love hot dogs.
  6. Gracias Madre – A plant based Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood.
  7. The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker – “California cuisine with European influences” for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
  8. Catch LA – Perfect if you love seafood and pretty backdrops for Instagram.
  9. Malibu Farm Pier Cafe – As fresh as food can get – from farm to table – sit on the pier and watch the ocean sparkle under the California sun.
  10. Ollo – A hidden gem in Malibu with great food – a stone throw away from the ocean!
