I’m not going to lie to you, this past year in quarantine, a majority of my time was spent watching television series after television series. I kept hoping to vicariously live through the characters of each show. I figured, if I couldn’t live my life the way that I wanted to, at least I could watch others do it for me, right? So below I have a list of all the television series that I spent my year watching consistently, along with a few bonus add-ons that I’m currently in the middle of.

Criminal Minds: 100/10…jk but seriously it’s a 10/10 show.

I have been watching Criminal Minds ever since I was a sophomore in high school and let me just say, rewatching this series from beginning to end, I was finally able to finish since seasons 13-15, which were made available on Hulu. The character developments in the show are amazing and great to watch them go through, especially Dr. Spencer Reid. It should also be noted that the cast is INSANELY attractive so eye candy is definitely an added bonus. I highly recommend binging this show because it is full of suspense and plot twists like no other television show I’ve seen before.

Grey’s Anatomy: 8/10

I still am working on finishing Grey’s Anatomy because of how many seasons there are, but so far it’s a great show. It brings a lot of fun drama that every girl dreams of living through…falling in love with insanely attractive doctors and being able to live your dream career. It’s almost like a soap opera with the amount of craziness that happens in almost every scene. I also have to add that watching McSteamy and McDreamy is always a HUGE plus!

On My Block: 7.5/10

I absolutely loved the first two seasons of this series. Jamal, Ruby, and Abuelita carried this show heavily with their humor and on-screen chemistry. The third season fell a little flat for me, especially because of the way that the season ended (don’t worry I won’t spoil it), but I am excited to see how they go about handling that situation in season four.

All-American: 9.5/10

Such an AMAZING show. The way that this series tackles serious problems in both America and Compton and how people of color are treated depending on where they live and how they appear is phenomenal. The cast has great on-screen chemistry and the series also handles high school and family problems well too with the way they bring it all to light. I really recommend this show to anyone that likes series similar to Friday Night Lights.

Glee: 9/10

Such a fun television show. It introduced me to all types of music and being able to sing along to different genres of music with the cast makes the experience even better. I liked the bits of drama that were thrown in the series. However, I will admit that watching Naya Rivera and Cory Monteith on my screen brought me a huge wave of sadness because the last time that I watched the series, I was a freshman in high school, which Naya Rivera attended herself.

Game of Thrones: 7/10

Honestly…I didn’t quite understand the hype of this show. I want to say that I enjoyed it, but the number of times I had seen various private parts of the characters on the show kind of turned me away from wanting to continue watching it. The only reason I am even planning on finishing it is because my dad worked on it and swears it gets better after season four. I recommend watching some of the other suggestions I’ve left on here beforehand (unless you really like medieval types of shows).

Euphoria: 11/10

Chef’s kiss. A masterpiece. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this show is. The script, the characters, the plot, and the visuals are amazing. It’s dramatic and full of interesting plot lines that differ in each episode. The way that almost all problems people go through is brought to light is great and I only wish that they had set the series in college rather than high school because the things that go on in the show are a bit too unrealistic for high school.

Pretty Little Liars: 9/10

This is my second time watching this series and let me just say, things make so much more sense when the entire series is finished, versus having weeks and weeks in between each season and years between different and important episodes with essential storylines and facts is beyond helpful and beneficial with keeping up with the plots. The producers did a great job with the character developments and plot twists. I recommend this show the most out of all the ones listed above.

So, while the world still remains partially closed and we remain in temporary quarantine, I recommend investing your time in a few of these shows if you have access to their streaming services. They make the time pass by so much quicker and honestly make quarantine just a little bit more bearable.
