Before we get into the fashion, the age old question of “what is the Met Gala” must be answered. Founded in 1946, the Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the opening of that year’s Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Every year they have a different theme where the people who attend try and dress for the theme. This year was Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology and it was a sight to behold. Some people looked elegant in intricate silver and metallic dresses, while others took it to a whole different level. Let’s take a look at how some celebrities took Manus x Machina to the extreme.

Taylor Swift or should I say Little J from Gossip Girl? This is definitely a bold look and something we normally would not be seeing from T Swift.

Like always, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are always eccentric and over the top at any event, and the Met Gala is no exception. I think my favorite thing from these outfits was Katy Perry’s Tamagotchi which matched with Orlando Blooms.

Gigi Hadid looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet but Zayn on the other hand… at least he took the theme very serious.

Fashion designer Jeremy Scott wore a tux bedazzled in the form of the human skeleton. Very interesting. Nicki Minaj looked wrapped up in a series of glamorous car seat buckles.

Who styles Madonna and why? Just why?
