Recipes that you’re sure to FALL for this Autumn

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Lutheran chapter.

It’s that time of year again when the weather gets colder, time starts slowing down, and your oven is hopelessly crying for you to use it to make a crowd-pleasing dessert. Since I’ve been away at college in a dorm with a full kitchen, I’ve been sharpening my baking skills and found the BEST fall baking recipes that you should try. At the end of each description, I will provide you with a link so you can start baking. Enjoy!

  1. PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

These cookies are literally one of the easiest and tastiest out there. For those of you who haven’t had any before, think of gooey chocolate chip cookies meeting the amazing taste of warm pumpkin spice. My mom and I make these at least once a year and they are always a hit among friends and family.

  1. PUMPKIN SCONES

Everyone knows the overpriced, sugary, and dry pumpkin scones you get from Starbucks every fall, right? Well, these scones are SO MUCH better and won’t hurt your bank account because you might already have most of the ingredients. This is another favorite of mine that my mom and I make year-round. It gives you a slice of fall while feeling as if you’re sophisticated enough to have high tea in England.

  1. PUMPKIN COFFEE CAKE

This recipe is yet another Starbucks classic, but it has pumpkin in it! Who doesn’t love a super moist and pumpkin-spiced coffee cake to share with the family or some good friends on a cold morning? For all my coffee lovers out there, unfortunately there is no coffee in this recipe; however, this coffee cake can be paired with your morning cup of joe (literally, that’s why it’s called coffee cake).

  1. PUMPKIN CINNAMON ROLLS

Yes, yes, I know Trader Joe’s sells these (I have yet to try them, though). But, nothing says Sunday morning like FRESHLY warm-baked cinnamon rolls. Did I mention these taste like pumpkins and are a great addition to a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate on a chilly fall morning?

  1. MAPLE SNICKERDOODLES

If you’re like me, a good snickerdoodle or gingersnap during the cool months of Autumn is the way to go. I haven’t tried this recipe yet, but it seems promising and extremely tasty. The sweet maple taste is sure to be a good taste on the soft and chewy snickerdoodles that everyone knows and loves!

  1. APPLE CIDER DONUT BREAD

Okay, I HAD to throw in an apple-themed recipe into this list. It just seemed like a perfect opportunity and a great Fall fit. I still need to try this recipe, but apparently, it’s everything you love about an apple cider donut in bread form… now that sounds delicious! Don’t worry though this recipe seems super easy to make and can be paired with apple butter and a warm hot drink in your hands.
