Not having enough drive or confidence to create something totally spectacular is difficult. Even if it’s not your forte, you are made to create. Sometimes, life can get in the way of your creative projects. Here are some tips that help for those blocks along the way!
1. Find pieces of art that inspire you
Whether it’s your favorite childhood TV show, an instagram account or something on your walls in your room, if it inspires you, keep it! For example, I love keeping books that have concept development art from my favorite works. I keep movies and CDs as well.

2. Learn how to make time for creativity
If you have to, schedule a time to create! Schedule a time to meet with your friends to take pictures. If you’re a writer, spend ten minutes writing a few paragraphs of your work everyday.
3. Rome wasn’t built in a day
Know that pieces of art might have taken weeks, months, or even years to make. It’s really a journey to come to the final product as it is.
4. Learn something new everyday.
It’s easy for us at school to do this but, put your knowledge into your work. It makes it more personal and the audience can learn something too.
5. Explore
This can be as simple as hiking around Wildwood to traveling to different states. Take pictures of the places you’ve been. They can really inspire you.
6. Jot everything down
Someone said something super clever in class, write it down. Describe the taste of the cafeteria food, write it down. People think that a developed idea will come to their mind when it’s time to create, but our best ideas come when we’re living!
7. Try to make your idea come to life
Take an idea and develop it. Question everything. For example, you glanced a dog on the street. What breed is the dog? How did its parents meet? Where was it born? Is it a stray?*Image from Getty Images
