Goodbye to my junior year, and hello to my senior year of college. One year left of classes, campus Starbucks runs, studying in the Library, and talking with friends on the Spine. I feel so lucky to have one more year of that.

My junior year at Cal Lutheran was the year that I really started to feel a part of the campus.  I transferred into Cal Lutheran at the start of my sophomore year, and for that first year, I was simply trying to get my footing and learn where everything was.  My junior year, however, allowed me the freedom to truly connect with others and get more involved. I started saying yes to more things and went to more Her Campus bonding events, guest lectures, and even sporting events on campus.

I’m looking forward more than ever to (hopefully) being able to attend an in-person lecture; the same ones I used to complain about having to go to. I’ve also promised myself that for my final year of college I will finally do the things that I said I would do but never actually did (as long as they are allowed to occur). This includes going to a football game, attending the school dance, and talking to more people on campus.

Although my junior year has not come to the end that I had expected, it has given me the opportunity to grow.  I have learned so much about what makes me happy and the people and things that are worth devoting time to. And, if there’s anything that this current pandemic has taught me, it’s to take advantage of every moment of those things.
