The holiday season is a perfect time to try baking new recipes and share them with those around you. I especially enjoy baking in the festive season, as you can put on Christmas music or a movie in the background while creating a delicious masterpiece!

Here are a few fun ideas that taste festive and will remind you that although this year has been difficult in so many ways, you can still have a fun holiday season!

  • Chocolate Truffles
    • Chocolate truffles are delicious and easy to make. You can make them with white, milk or dark chocolate so everyone can have one they will enjoy. You could decorate them with a variety of ingredients such as crushed candy canes, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or sea salt!
  • Gingerbread People
    • Nothing reminds me of the holiday season like gingerbread. Not only are gingerbread biscuits delicious to eat, but they are also fun to decorate as well! You can make them into gingerbread people and decorate them with different colored icings or your favorite chocolate or candies. You can also build a gingerbread house! People of all ages will enjoy eating and making these.

  • Chocolate Bark
    • Chocolate bark is so simple yet so effective. The great thing about chocolate bark is that you can personalize it to your taste and any dietary requirements. Try milk, white or dark chocolate topped with crushed candy canes, crushed pretzels, candies, or your favorite cookies crushed up!
  • Sugar Cookies
    • Sugar cookies are not only delicious but the process of making them can be very fun too! Get some different holiday shaped cookie cutters to make cookies in the shapes of your favorite winter things like penguins, snowflakes, or reindeer. After they are baked have fun by decorating them with colored icing, sprinkles, or marshmallows!
  • Apple and Cinnamon Pie
    • Apple pie reminds me of cosy evenings when I was little. It is so easy to make and by adding cinnamon it gives it an extra festive twist! You could serve it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delicious treat on a cold evening.

Not only does baking give you something delicious to eat, but it is a great activity to do with those you care about and to get you in the holiday spirit!
