One of the best parts about Cal Lutheran’s location in Thousand Oaks is that our school is so close to towns with great concert venues in the LA area, Ventura County and Santa Barbara that will be hosts to various artists throughout this spring semester.  

In addition to Cal Lutheran’s very own concert where Sage the Gemini will be performing, here’s a list of upcoming concerts that fit every type of music taste and are happening close to home at prices that won’t break the bank:

Happy Camper Tour: Hoodie Allen at The Fonda Theater

Following the release of his new album titled “Happy Camper” on January 22nd, Hoodie Allen is going on tour and one of his stops will be The Fonda Theater in Hollywood on Saturday, February 15, 2016. Tickets are still selling on StubHub starting at $30.

Tyga at The Majestic Ventura Theater

On June 23, 2015, Tyga released his latest work, “The Gold Album.” On Tuesday, March 1st, 2016, the rapper will be performing at The Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, California, which is only a half hour drive north on the 101 freeway. Tickets start at $35 for general admission.

Ellie Goulding at The Staples Center

English, indie pop sensation, Ellie Goulding, has established herself as one of the most unique and powerful voices in the industry. Her Delirium World Tour, which kicks off in April 2016, will include a stop in Los Angeles. On Friday, April 8th, 2016, Goulding will be performing at The Staples Center, just an hour away from campus in one of the hottest spots in L.A. Tickets are selling starting at $44.

Purity Ring at The Majestic Ventura Theater

Purity Ring, the electro-pop duo, released their latest album titled “Another Eternity” in 2015. Among their many stops around the world to promote their new album, the duo is having a show in the heart of downtown Ventura, also at The Majestic Ventura Theater, just a 30 minute drive from campus. The show is on Tuesday, April 12th, 2016, and ticket prices start at $26.50.

The 1975 at The Santa Barbara Bowl

Formed in Manchester U.K., The 1975 have won over the hearts of alternative rock lovers around the world with their hits like Chocolate, Girls, and Robbers. The band will be performing at the Santa Barbara Bowl, which is only an hour long drive northbound on the 101 freeway, on Thursday, April 21st, 2016. Tickets range from $39.50- $54.50.
