10 Signs You Know You’re a Tourist in New York

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Lutheran chapter.

Being a tourist in a different state or country is such a great experience. You have an excuse to visit all the well-known monuments, restaurants, beaches, and buildings that everyone is dying to go to and you can become immersed in a new culture’s way of living. There is a thrill to it all, especially when you try to fit in just like the locals and maybe even get the chance to stop at a secret food joint or scenic spot that not too many people know about. However, certain places may not be what you are typically used to and you can easily be pointed out from the crowd. Being labeled as a tourist is not a bad thing. Millions of tourists visit numerous hometowns yearly and can have the same great experiences you do when you travel. With the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps, people who visit New York are in for many great surprises. In this state you know you are a tourist when you:
