Fun Date Ideas in Small Town Mt. Pleasant

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C Mich chapter.

As Central Michigan University students, we know that Mount Pleasant isn’t the biggest town. It’s smaller than most college towns, but we make the best of it. After being in Mount Pleasant for three years, here’s my list of the best date spots for college couples.

Karma Kat Cafe

Like cats? Does your date like cats? Then try Karma Kat Cafe. For $10 per person, you can spend an hour in the cat lounge and pet, cuddle and love on a bunch of kitties! On Tuesday’s, KKC has a deal where two people can get in for $15.

Painted Turtle Pottery

You and your date can go to Painted Turtle Pottery and paint a piece of art! Prices for ceramics are usually between $10 to $30 each. Choose from different colors and pieces of work to design your own piece of pottery to take home.

Jon’s Country Burgers

Looking for an old school style restaurant? Check out Jon’s Drive-In. You can sit inside at a booth or “drive-in” just like a 50’s style restaurant. This restaurant has been in Mount Pleasant since 1957, sticking with the 1950s atmosphere. Grab a burger and a milkshake with your date!

Celebration Cinema

The classic date spot. Although, we know that going to the movies can be expensive. That’s why you should take your date to Celebration Cinema on Tuesday because tickets are $6 all day. It’s something us college kids can afford. Take your date to see the latest horror movie or chick-flick.

Central Escapes

Interested in trying something new? Maybe try out Central Escapes. Mount Pleasant’s premium real-life escape experience. You and your date can play, or if you plan to double date, you can have up to eight people in your escape room group. You’ll be locked in the room for 60 minutes, having to look for clues and solve puzzles to escape the room. Central Escapes is $25 per person.

Even though Mt. Pleasant is a small college town, there are still so many options for date ideas around town!
