Even though it might still be single-digit temperatures outside, I’m already looking forward to the spring and dreaming of warmer days. The spike in temperatures last week had me taking off my winter parka and thinking about ways I can dress that don’t involve 5 layers. The upcoming trends for spring 2019 are looking colorful, as always, and a mix of prints too.

There’s always that one signature print off a spring season, and last year it was gingham. This year, polka dots look like they’re going to be the print, as seen on runways from the likes of Celine and Carolina Herrera. Another ‘90s influence on the prints for this upcoming Spring is black and white checkerboard.

Surprisingly, the color beige is going to be super in for Spring. Neutrals are going to be everywhere, so get your hands on them soon. The “color of the spring” is always predicted by many fashion bloggers and influencers, and it’s no surprise that neon and pastels are going to be super trendy in the spring. I personally love the neon trend right now in winter sweaters, and I think it’s going to continue into more spring-friendly wear, like these neon pink pants.

Another trend I’ve already been seeing is utility style clothes. Fashion is meeting function, and I’m here for it. Khaki and cargo pants are now cool, and utility dresses are already being sold at a bunch of trendy online boutiques. I think this trend would be super cute in a utility style jumpsuit.

Animal print, as you would expect, is going to continue into the spring 2019 fashion lines. Cheetah, zebra, leopard, and all those will make for an easy transition from your winter wardrobe to your summer one. Another trend that’s going to continue from winter and fall is biker shorts. Personally, I’m not too into this, but I think that it’s super flattering and a versatile athleisure look. I’m predicting that the length of biker shorts is going to transfer into all other styles of shorts, and a more “sensible” short length is going to be a more conservative spring 2019 trend.

I can’t wait for the cold spell to lift and for spring to start warming us up so we can finally all wear our new trendy spring outfits.
