“The Bachelor,” the renowned ABC television show featuring a single bachelor searching for a wife, debuted its 28th season in 2024. I’ve never been consistent with keeping up with the annual “Bachelor and Bachelorette” seasons. However, when I heard that Season 28’s star, Joey Graziadei, is from my hometown in the suburbs of Philadelphia, I knew I had to watch.

Joey Graziadei is the ideal gentleman type. Joey seems caring, sweet, and willing to get to know the women on the show truly. As Vulture puts it, “Joey is the type of boyfriend who when you show him your manicure, he always goes ‘Ooh! I love the length, sweetheart! I know you have been working on cuticle hydration.’”

Joey grew up in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, but moved to Hawaii in 2017 to pursue his tennis career. Aside from his love for tennis, Joey enjoys golfing, surfing, and hiking. After being runner-up on Charity Lawson’s 2023 season of “The Bachelorette,” Joey has been looking for a second chance at love. In preparation for his upcoming season, Joey explained that he wants “someone that’s just themselves that I can truthfully be a partner with.”

I feel that Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor has introduced a great group of women, along with some entertaining drama. So far, I want to present my favorite and least favorite women in this season of “The Bachelor.”

Best Girls:

  1. Daisy Kent: Daisy made her first impression on the show riding in on a Christmas Tree Farm truck. Daisy comes from a big loving family and dreams of finding a man who will “truly put her first.” We find out that Daisy has gone through a lot with many health issues over the years. She shares with the public that she uses a cochlear implant to hear and her hearing loss plays a significant role in her life. Yet, this does not stop Daisy from doing what she loves. Daisy received the first one-on-one date card and traveled in a helicopter with Joey to a country music festival. Daisy continues to shine on the show through her kind and genuine persona. I feel that Daisy will go far and potentially be the one for Joey.
  1. Kelsey Anderson: Kelsey Anderson is a “southern sweetheart” who grew up in Germany on a U.S. military base. She currently lives in New Orleans, and made her first impression by giving Joey his own voodoo doll. Kelsey’s love language is gift giving and cannot wait to shower Joey with gifts. From night one, I have sensed that Joey is interested in Kelsey, especially since she was one of the women to receive a kiss the first night. I am excited to see if the two hit it off more as the season goes on.

Worst Girls:

  1. Jessica Edwards (Jess): Jess immediately came onto the show strong and made it clear that she is not coming on the show “to find a new bestie.” Jess has made it her goal to win over Joey. After Jess and Joey’s first one-on-one talk, they shared a kiss. Afterward, Jess immediately decided to tell the room full of women that she and Joey had a “little smoochie poo.” This statement immediately put a target on her back and I think every viewer can agree that it was not necessary to share that detail about her and Joey’s encounter with the women. Later, she interrupts a conversation between Taylor and Joey to talk to Joey even more. In hopes of explaining herself, she says “Sorry I don’t want to be that girl” to Taylor and proceeds to take Joey away from Taylor. I feel that behavior is only going to continue as the season progresses.

2 and 3. Maria Georgas & Sydney Gordon:  Maria and Sydney’s ongoing beef relationship is going to take a toll on their relationship with Joey. In episode 2, Maria overheard Madina opening up to the other women about being insecure about her age. Later on, Sydney overheard Maria imitating Madina and claiming that Madina was overreacting about her age. Sydney found this wrong and informed the rest of the women about what Maria said. Maria completely denied that she gossiped about Madina and her age to Sydney. In episode 3, the two continued to bump heads. After being together on a group date, Sydney explains that it “sucks” to be with Maria. After back and forth silent drama, Joey is informed that there is tension in the house. I am grateful for the dramatic entertainment, but these women are acting immature and not classy at all. If they want to be with Joey, they should work to put their differences aside.

Before coming on the show, Joey said in an interview that “[he’s] not someone who loves drama.” The Lauren and Ali sister duo alone was a lot to handle, but aside from that, multiple women are bringing more drama to the table, pulling me in every week.
