Spring Break is quickly approaching and girls are scrambling to pack the essentials. You don’t want to be that girl who brings two oversized duffel bags for just one week and holds everybody up at the airport or hotel as you try to haul them around everywhere. I know it might be temping to pack goggles and fins for when you go snorkeling, but I think it’s time to prioritize what you want to bring versus what you need to bring. So, what exactly are the essentials?

BikinisIf you forget a bathing suit for Spring Break, I don’t know what you were thinking. All of us need a little break from the never-ending Lewisburg winter, and what better way to celebrate than lounging on a chair while soaking up some rays? Don’t be scared to leave the one color bikini at home and try the new daring patterns and prints. Check out Victoria’s Secret for affordable and quality bathing suits.

SunscreenIf you’re going to be soaking up those rays, you absolutely cannot forget your sunscreen. It might seem like a good decision at the time to get some color without any UVA protection, but just remember that you don’t want to be made fun of later that night when you’re the same color as the strawberry daiquiri you’re sipping on. Turn to the skincare professionals at Neutrogena for help; their sunscreen isn’t oily, so it won’t enlarge your pores and leave you with gross skin.

ExfoliatorIt’s all fun and games until you start breaking out. Due to sweat, sunscreen, dirt, etc., your pores will be seeing a lot of action during your week of fun adventures. Be sure to run down to the CVS on Market Street to check out what options you think will be best for your skin.

SunglassesWhether you need sunglasses to mask a hangover or to shield your eyes from the sun, every girl needs sunglasses with her at all times. Don’t be afraid to splurge on the cutest pair, especially if you usually wear glasses and need sunglasses to help your eyesight when you want to relax and read a magazine by the pool. That being said, it’s never a bad idea to buy $5 glasses if you’re prone to losing or breaking them, and they’re always reliable if you’re doing something active and they could easily fall.

SandalsI know we’re all used to throwing on snow boots every morning and crossing our fingers that we don’t slip and fall on the walk to class. That said, flip flops are essential to your spring break trip. Whether they’re rubber sandals that you can throw on before you walk down to the beach or cute wedges that you can wear at night, you should definitely throw a variety of sandals into your suitcase.
