1. How did you get into music and DJing?

It was a funny coincidence. I’ve loved music since I was a little kid. I grew up surrounded by Classic Rock and Reggae courtesy of my Dad’s awesome CD collection. When I was three, my mom took me to music lessons where I learned to play the piano, which I continued to play until I was 16. Around the beginning of high school I started to get really into electronic music, and randomly decided to download a program called “Virtual DJ”. I mentioned it to my best friend Nick during freshman year, and it turned out that not only had he recently started using the same program, but also his Dad used to be a professional DJ back in the day. From there, Nick’s dad bought us our first set of DJ equipment and every weekend we’d hang out and try to learn how to DJ. Come junior year we started performing at parties.

Coming to Bucknell it was a challenge adjusting to the college scene, especially during my first year. Luckily, since then Bucknell has been really receptive and given me amazing opportunities hiring me for different events.

2. How did you get involved with the Concert Committee?

I found out about Concert Committee through my first year RA David Blaides who recommended that I apply. He knew I was super into music and told me I should give it a shot.

Since joining, Concert Committee has definitely been one of the greatest things I’ve been involved with at Bucknell. It’s really amazing to be part of all the behind the scenes work required to bring artists to campus. Plus its always fun hanging out with the other members.

3. Why did the Concert Committee decide on bringing Walk the Moon and Wiz Khalifa to campus?

We brought Wiz Khalifa and Walk the Moon to campus because when we were brainstorming artists they came up a lot in conversation. Also when talking with other students, and from the results of our survey, their names were mentioned pretty frequently. It’s important for us to take the student opinion into account because in the end the concert is for them. Walk the Moon had a lot of great songs going into the summer, and since then have had even more become popular. We heard great things about their live performances and thought Bucknell would have a lot of fun seeing them in concert. Wiz Khalifa, on the other hand, is an unbelievably well known artist with tons of hits. We knew Bucknellians would be excited to see him too. We’re really happy to have them both come perform.

4. What other artists would you like to see come to Bucknell in the future?

There are so many artists who I’d like to see how to Bucknell. To just name a few, it’d be The Chainsmokers, Flume, Kendrick Lamar, Chromeo and A$AP Rocky.
