Introduction
Hosted by singer-songwriter and actress Olivia Rodrigo, the Daisy Chain Fields music festival took place for the very first time on August 29th, 2026. The one-day, all-women event drew nearly 45,000 attendees to Great Park in Irvine, California. The festival was considered a massive success, raising over $20 million for girls’ and women’s charities.
Fundraising
The initial funds came from ticket sales and donations, both online and on-site, totaling an estimated $10 million. A matching grant from philanthropist Melinda French Gates and her organization, Pivotal Ventures, doubled the total to $20 million. On-site, individuals engaged with ten female-focused nonprofit partners, including the National Women’s Law Center and the Center for Reproductive Rights, which advocates for domestic violence prevention, gender equality, and reproductive rights.
Inspiration
Rodrigo’s inspiration for the festival came from the Lilith Fair, the notorious female-exclusive concert tour of the late 1990s co-founded by Sarah McLachlan. When Rodrigo reached out, McLachlan enthusiastically gave her blessing for Daisy Chain Fields, thrilled to see her legacy of women’s advocacy continuing in the new generation by cultivating a night filled with connection, community, mutual support, and joy.
Performances
The festival featured diverse popular and upcoming female artists from unique genres including pop, rock, alternative, punk, rap, hip-hop, indie, and electronic. Across two stages, the Dandelion and Marigold stages welcomed 14 primary artists and three special guests. The main lineup included Bikini Kill, Chappell Roan, Devon Again, Die Spitz, Doechii, Eli, Garbage, Mitski, Not for Radio, Olivia Rodrigo, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Santigold, and The Breeders.
Rodrigo’s Setlist
Olivia Rodrigo’s headlining set included 17 songs, including four cover songs and appearances by three special guest artists. Her setlist highlighted tracks from each of her three hit albums: SOUR (2021), GUTS (2023), and you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love (2026). Additionally, she debuted her charity single, “Serena Joy,” with the proceeds from the track directly contributing to the festival funds.

Guest Performances
Each guest brought a distinct energy to the festival. Sarah McLachlan appeared as the first guest, creating a full moment of nostalgia for the legacy of the Lilith Fair. The two performed McLachlan’s “Building a Mystery,” and executed an emotional performance of “Angel” dedicated to Dolly Parton in the wake of her recent passing. Next, stepping in at the last minute for Karen O, Alanis Morissette joined the stage, performing her iconic 1995 hit “Ironic.” Rodrigo and Alanis Morissette share an admirable bond; in the past, Rodrigo has regarded Morissette’s album, Jagged Little Pill, as a constant inspiration for her own vulnerable and angst-filled music. Morissette recently appeared on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, sharing how she wants to be a mentor for Rodrigo, offering the guidance that she was not provided as a younger artist. Their performance served as a statement of unity, defying the industry narrative that women must compete for their place and success. Finally, Stevie Nicks concluded the evening with Rodrigo, joining her to sing Fleetwood Mac’s timeless song, “Landslide.” Nicks praised Rodrigo, exclaiming, “She reminds me of me, when I was her age a hundred years ago,” matching the song’s themes of time and reflection.
Stay tuned for the Daisy Chain Fields festival to return in 2027!
