Fun Alternatives to the Regular Bucknell Attire

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the cute and classy East Coast preppy look that we Bucknellians have mastered. However, I feel that every once in a while, I want to branch out and be able to wear something around campus without looking at another girl and seeing her wearing the same, exact thing. I have thus decided to take it upon myself to find fun and equally cute alternatives to, may I cautiously say, the Bucknell uniform.

1. The Burberry Quilted Jacket.

It may be spring but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t chilly anymore. You may not own this exact same jacket but it is very likely that you have something very similar. No?
Well, if not. These are still some awesome jackets that you can wear to brave the wild weather.

  Alternative #1:

This fun number is edgy because of its leather sleeves but has a clean line which makes it chic (in another words, love.) It is a bit pricey but for those who are interested in making an investment, this may be a great option! Maison Scotch – $341

Alternative #2:

Every girl needs a blazer – and this floral print is just screams spring. I love this because it’s not an obnoxious amount of flowers an instead gives off a crisp, fresh feeling. This feisty thing is available here: Aqua – $98

Not digging the explosion of the floral-print this season? No problem! This striped blazer is just as fun, trendy, and adorable. Throw this on with a simple white shirt and jeans and you will have an effortlessly cute outfit!
Aqua – $98

If you don’t feel like spending that much for a blazer, I’ve got you covered! Check these equally cute blazers within the $30 – $70 price range! The last one is for those brave souls who want to try something funky and sexy!

Alternative #3:

I love gray sweaters and jean vests – so this little combo is fantastic! It gives off a kind of edgy, relaxed, and comfortable look, which is always fun to play with! This is available here: By Zoe – $344

2. The skinnies.
Blue and black jeans are essentials – but make a fashion statement and shake things up with these pastel colored and print bottoms! These are all great bottoms that have the right amount of sass and sweetness!

3. Ballet flats and Toms– comfortable but not exactly show-stopping. Here are some flats that are.

4. Loungewear – for the days when you just want to walk around in sweats
Seen this outfit before? It’s comfortable but here are a few cute, comfy alternatives that you will be tempted to even sleep in!

After serving as Campus Correspondent at Bucknell University, she is so excited to continue being a part of the Her Campus team! Besides traversing the city and trying to figure out what being a "real person" really means, Sarah loves long walks on the beach, sipping pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain (kidding!). Real favorites include traveling, writing, kickboxing, and making up ridiculous lyrics to the latest songs. She absolutely loves anything that involves cupcakes, butterflies, glitter, and anything Parisian and specializes in baking with far too much chocolate and obsessively watching shows bound to be cancelled after the first season. Though the long term path for this post-grad collegiette remains unclear, she's looking forward to all the new 20-something adventures that await her!
