Finally! Classes are over, finals period has commenced, and the holidays are approaching sooner than we know it. That being said, it’s time to celebrate. Although studying, writing papers, and finishing up all assignments before we leave for break seems daunting and stressful, there’s always room for a little bit of fun…especially with your wardrobe! Here’s a look at this week’s weather and some fun fashion tips to go along with it:
Monday, December 5: Cloudy with a high of 55. Since today will be warmer than the weekend, I suggest pairing a tunic-type shirt with leggings and either flats or boots. It’s a look that’s casual enough for a school day yet looks fancier than a sweater and jeans. Pair with a fun fashion scarf and bright earrings to add some always-needed color!
Tuesday, December 6: Light rain with a high of 54. Don’t let the rain put a damper on your last day of classes! Go out with a bang by wearing your best pair of skinny jeans, cutest cardigan or sweater, your favorite boots, and a pair of long earrings to dress up the look. By looking good and feeling confident in what you’re wearing, you’ll also feel confident and relaxed turning in those last assignments and kissing the first semester goodbye! If you decide to go out at night, I have one word for you ladies: SPARKLE. Wear a sparkly tank, skirt, dress, blazer, whatever…the more you sparkle, the more you’ll enjoy de-stressing before finals set in.
Wednesday, December 7: Partly cloudy with a high of 44. Today’s weather is colder than how the week started out, so I suggest wearing a cable-knit sweater and either leggings or jeans with heavier boots. You’ll want to keep warm yet be comfortable for the official Reading Day (yippee!). Make it fun by wearing multiple bracelets or rings that add some flare to an otherwise ordinary outfit.
Thursday, December 8: Partly cloudy with a high of 40. Brr! The weather is definitely getting colder, so what better way to beat it than with a flannel and vest? This tried-and-true combo never fails to look cold-weather cute, so rock it with skinny jeans, tall leather boots, and a pretty pair of stud earrings.
Friday, December 9: Partly cloudy with a high of 44. It’s still as cold as the past two days, so try pairing a long, cable-knit or wool cardigan with a cotton tee and leggings. It’s casual enough for a Friday, yet you can dress it up by adding a long necklace and colorful enamel bangles.
I’m wishing all you ladies the best of luck with finals and hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break. Getting through finals will definitely be tough, but looking good will always make you feel less stressed. So work hard and go home ready to celebrate all your success this semester. Also, a little retail therapy for all your hard work never hurts…and you all certainly deserve it!
Fashionably Yours,
Jen Lassen
