Trend Alert: cover songs. Cover songs are a modern performance of an original song or recording. A good cover, however, is more than just innovation and originality. The best cover songs recover a new aspect in their song of choice, and/or redefine the listener’s admiration. Cover songs are popular for their acoustic alterations that create an emotional connection with the listener.
