I love blogs more than the next person. And obviously if you’re reading this post, you do, too!  Many of you have been asking for music blog recommendations so you can be the first to know about the newest albums and freshest tracks. Because, let’s face it…a girl in the know has gotta know about it all. Here’s a list of some awesome music blogs you should check out today:

1.     Hear Ya. This Indie-focused blog has both SoundCloud and You Tube links for each artist, plus a really cool layout and awesome pictures. A must-see for Indie lovers like myself! http://www.hearya.com/

2     Brooklyn Vegan. Although this blog is NYC-centric, it covers the entire spectrum from metal to hip-hop. It includes great recommendations about tons of up and coming artists and gives a complete description of concerts in the New York City area. http://www.brooklynvegan.com/

3.     Gotta Dance Dirty. As the name suggests, this blog is all about uniting the dance music scene. This site features interviews with up and coming DJs, producers, and other artists that’ll have you moovin’ and groovin’ all night. And if you’re anything like me and not exactly gettin’ down all the time, the songs on here make for some great gym music! http://www.gottadancedirty.com/category/music/

4.     Pop Justice. And for those of you who just like a good pop song every now and again, this blog is for you. Featuring music videos and awesome descriptions of today’s top pop songs, this is one site worth exploring. http://www.popjustice.com/

5.     You Ain’t No Picasso. A visually appealing, alternative-focused, descriptive music blog with free MP3 downloads of the different songs featured on the site. How sweet is that? http://www.youaintnopicasso.com/

6.     Kevchino. This blog features professional pictures from concerts across the country and the set lists from the shows/tour dates for a specific artist. A great way to look up some new artists and find out when your favorites are touring! http://kevchino.blogspot.com/

7.     Country Universe. For all you country lovers out there, this blog is the ultimate resource for reading about and discovering new country artists. The articles are really well written and include links to videos from each artist so you can check the music out right away. http://www.countryuniverse.net/

8.     Remix 86. Like us, the writers of this blog love music that gets you dancing. You can find some really exclusive tracks here, which are well described so you get a sense of what the song will sound like before you actually listen to it. http://hypem.com/blog/remix86/14871

Even though I 100% agree with the fact that you can never spend enough time on our Her Campus site, checking out these music blogs will undoubtedly broaden your musical horizons. Whether you find a new track to dance to on Friday night or a country tune to sing along with on Saturday afternoon, there’s no limit to the music that’s worth discovering out there. Rock on!

Sarah Dubow graduated from school in 2013 and is a Digital Strategist at Marina Maher Communications in New York City. After serving as Campus Correspondent at Bucknell University, she is so excited to continue being a part of the Her Campus team! Besides traversing the city and trying to figure out what being a "real person" really means, Sarah loves long walks on the beach, sipping pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain (kidding!). Real favorites include traveling, writing, kickboxing, and making up ridiculous lyrics to the latest songs. She absolutely loves anything that involves cupcakes, butterflies, glitter, and anything Parisian and specializes in baking with far too much chocolate and obsessively watching shows bound to be cancelled after the first season. Though the long term path for this post-grad collegiette remains unclear, she's looking forward to all the new 20-something adventures that await her!
